AN OPEN LETTER TO CHIEF JOHN ODIGIE OYEGUN, THE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN, ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC)

With the ensuing crisis that has engulfed the Delta state chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC concerned Stakeholders are once again calling on the National Chairman to urgently, address the situation and restore peace amongst its members.

Mr. Chairman sir, with all due respect, I want to ask you a direct question on behalf of the entire people of Delta state, who truly crave for a change in the administration of our great state Delta state.

Mr. Chairman sir, what crime did we commit against you as a people or as a state?

We know your mother is an Urhobo woman from Delta State and by virtue of that, we see you as a Deltan and we give you that reverence as one of us.

When your mother transcended to glory, the Urhobos and of course, the entire Delta State was there for you as your mother was laid to rest in Urhoboland.

Mr. Chairman sir, why have you chosen to enslave the entire people of Delta state by ensuring we never get out of the shackles and bondage of the PDP? Why have you decided to kill APC in Delta, when you know APC is the only hope for the emancipation of the common man in Delta State? What evil have we done to you that made you hate us Deltans this much?

When APC was formed and registered the entire people of Delta heaved a sigh of relief, believing the reign of PDP misrule, maladministration, embezzlement, impoverishment and impunity is over. But unfortunately the party that came like a beam of light has suddenly turned into a shadow all because, you would not allow the light of APC to glow. Sir, why?

For over two years now, you have kept the light of Delta APC, the hope of Deltans under your stool, to ensure Delta never sees the light of day. Could the APC National Chairman be working as a mole?

Sir, for over two years now, the Delta State Chapter of the APC has remained rudderless, directionless like a scalar quantity, without leadership, after the Asaba High Court sacked the state exco, yet, as National Chairman and a Deltan at that, you never saw the need to reposition the party in the state to better prepare it for future elections. Even when the Elders and Leaders of the party tried to set up a state interim exco to move the party forward, you fought against it, you prefer the part of impunity by flouting and contravening the orders of the High Court Asaba; a characteristic that is alien to the tenets and principles of democracy and the rule of law.

Mr. Chairman sir, I am sure you know this is against our manifesto as a party.

Mr. Chairman sir, you can not drag Delta APC into your lawless lifestyle of flouting court orders. We are appealing to you to take your hands off Delta APC issues to allow the party grow and become strong and formidable; we want to win elections, please Mr Chairman look for elsewhere to do your usual trading, we can no longer contain your excesses. Don't force us to see you as an enemy of Delta State, or else we might have to declare you a persona non grata in Delta State.

We believe a word is enough for this wise. Thanks for your understanding and necessary response to this plea.

Signed:

Comrade Anthony Okoli.
Spokesman for Delta APC Progressives
