OPEN LETTER TO APC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN ON CRISIS IN DELTA STATE CHAPTER
AN URGENT CALL ON THE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN OF THE APC TO WORK WITH THE DELTA STATE STAKEHOLDERS/LEADERS OF APC AS HEADED BY DR. IBE KACHIKWU TO OFFICIALLY RESPECT THE COURT JUDGEMENT SACKING THE PROPHET JONES ERUE FORMER EXECUTIVE WITHIN 24 HOURS FROM TODAY OR WE SHALL DO IT OURSELVES.
JONES ERUE'S ACTION IS A MONSTROUS EMBARRASSEMENT TO APC AND AN ABUSE OF COURT ORDER.
I do not have the time to go into the details of chronicling all the ills and irresposibilities of the Jones Erue's exco, but it will suffice here to state that; after several but fruitless attempts by the state and national leadership of the party to resolve the intractable problems that arose from the illegalities that have come to characterize the actions and activities of his exco and its rejection by the majority of party members and supporters on account of the subsisting judgement of the High Court which unequivocally, sacked the Jones exco and its attendant incapacity to wield influence to hold the party together necessitated an all stakeholders meeting.
In attendance, amongst whom, were the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, Chief Great Ogboru.
Also present are; Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Sir Olisaemeke Akamukali, Chief Enuha, Chief Adolo Okotie Eboh, Chief Frank Kokori, Chief O'tega Emerhor.
Others in attendance include Dr. Alex Ideh, Chief Mrs. Harriman, Sir Richard Odibo, Prophet Jones Erue and several others.
In this all leaders and stakeholders meeting, the following resolutions were unanimously passed, part of which are that:
"In obedience to the subsisting court judgment, the Jones exco should tidy up its records and disband on or before the 23rd of August for a caretaker committee to be constituted which will manage the party till the party convention".
"That all litigations and other matters in court should be discontinued".
But while the party was thrown into mourning by the tragic and sudden death of one of the party's foremost leaders and a crusader for peace and unity in the party, Jones Erue recklessly and unscrupulously summoned a meeting of his illegitimate exco, in a manner that typifies a celebration of the passage of the BoT member, who just a few days earlier before the cold hands of death snatched him from us, asserted his leadership and preeminence over the illegitimate exco of Jones Erue and he (Jones) made a volte face, denying and denouncing the party leadership, especially the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Kachikwu who has painstakingly led the party through turbulence until a binding truce was effected just a few weeks ago.
"Jones accused Kachikwu of usurpation of his authority as party chairman, whereby he accused Kachikwu of becoming a leader through the back door and trying to champion an anioma agenda".
"He accused the Minister of empowering Akamukali with petro dollars and a brand new Lexus to undermine him(Jones) to surreptitiously destroy APC in favor of Okowa to perpetuate Anioma leadership of the state".
"He accused Senator Omo-Agege of disrespect and highhandedness. He boasted that the National Chairman, Chief Oyegun whom he claimed to be in Chief O'tega Emerhor's pay role, has taught him how to deal with Senator Omo-Agege by suspending him from the party if the Senator continues to disregard him".
"He accused Ogboru of not giving him enough money but preferred to depend on the SFG, David Babachir to make him the governor. He accused Chief Adolor of pride and arrogance. He said Chief Enuha should learn to respect him from what happened to Senator Okposo while also, bragged about his being supported by Chief Oyegun to assert and disregard Kachikwu and others whom he callously described as illegal leaders".
"He boasted that he would deal with Kachikwu the same way the National Chairman told him, he (Oyegun) humbled Tinubu who tried as illegitimate National Leader of the party by trying to usurp his office".
"Jones went on and on to boast that nobody or group can disband his exco, that as long as Oyegun remains the National Chairman, no court order can be of any effect on him".
The questions to ask then are; how can anyone or group of persons be bigger than the constitution to the extent of being encouraged to flout orders of court?
How can one person in the name Chairman and exco be bigger than the entire party membership including stakeholders and national caucus members as a Senator and Minister and the biggest and most popular opposition leader in the history of Delta state?
How can an illegitimate exco be bigger than all the members and supporters of the party who have collectively rejected the exco?
How can a party exist without the people and members who never fail to express their disdain for Jones and his exco?
Against the foregoings, we call for the immediate arrest of "fake" Prophet Jones and his illegitimate exco members for disobeying a court order and bringing the judiciary into disrepute.
We call on the only presently recognized committee under the leadership of Dr. Kachikwu to immediately, reconvene to formally dissolve the already "High Court proscribed Jones exco' and set up a Caretaker Committee immediately.
Finally we declare our respect for our National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, who was a former governor and is a respectable leader of great repute.
Although we are worried by his nocturnal association with "fake' Prophet Jones and his principal, Emerhor, we take Jones intemperate outburst and insinuations with a pinch of salt, call vehemently on him not only to disown Jones but should prevail on him to vacate the party in obedience to the judiciary and in the overall interest of APC in the country and Delta in particular.
Also since Jones boasted in the said illegal meeting that they will block Great Ogboru, Hyacinth Enuah, Adollo Okotie Eboh, Hon Ochie, Ayiri Emami e.t.c from getting NDDC contract since his Boss who originally was penciled to be the Chairman of the NDDC who was begged by the President to recommend a representative who will act on his behalf, hence he placed Engr. Adjogbe to be his stooge. Therefore, the position of the Executive Director of Project in the NDDC was used to compensate his boss (Olorogun O'tega).
The question is; is the NDDC is a source of enriching State Executive members or that Engr. Adjogbe is made the EDP to neglect his statutory duties and basically empower O'tega's business partners?
In a nutshell, I, with due respect call the State leadership body headed by the Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources to convene an Emergency meeting within the next 24 hours to officially, as a show of sincerity of purposes and start doing the right thing or needful by as a new beginning, respect the court judgement which sacked Prophet Jones Erue and his Exco members and immediately constitute a Caretaker Committee.
We must be mindful of how the PDP had been respecting the court judgements passed on their national body.
Failure to act within the stipulated 24 hours may aggrevate the coming together of all of us; the Concerned Leaders and Youths of APC in Delta State to take over the Secretariat and appoint ourselves as Caretaker Committee members as from on Wednesday next week.
"Enough is Enough of the excesses of O'tega and his boys (Jones and Adjogbe)".
Signed;
PRINCE CHRISTOPHER AKPOJOTOR AGAGA.
