2019: AMORI WARNS PDP MEMBERS AGAINST UNGUARDED STATEMENTS
With the People's Democratic Party, PDP set to take its rightful place in the scheme of things ahead of the 2019, Special Adviser to the PDP National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Senator Ahmed Makarfi on Reconciliation and Conflict Management Senator Ighoyota Amori blew hot today at the PDP Headquaters in Abuja at different fora with PDP stalwarts.
Warning politicians, particurlarly members of the PDP against unguarded statements which is capable of plunging the party into further crisis, he appealed to all aggrieved members to sheathe their swords and embrace the unity and brotherhood that currently exists in the party, in order to take over leadership in the forth coming general election.
Senator Amori who was playing host to party supporters in his Abuja Office, maintained that PDP is the only party in Nigeria that has an unyielding commitment to the country’s greatness.
"We have shown Nigerians our capacity during our reign and Nigerians have no doubt in our abilities in restoring the flying glory of our nation".
"The nation is in urgent need of our collective wisdom as a party and our leadership prownees in removing the nation from the ongoing recession which has made life unbearable for the common man".
Chief Amori called on PDP members home and abroad, to unite again and shame their common enemies by their collective resolve to remain as one entity.
Stressing the need for party members to remain faithful and law abiding to build the party, the Special Adviser noted that, "PDP is not a lamentation party rather, we remove Nigerians from lamentation".
"We did it before and we can do it again", he said.
"It is too late to be discouraged", the Special Adviser to the National Caretaker Committee Chairman said as he pleaded with party leaders.
Speaking on the political storm that rocked the foundation of the party, Senator Amori said, the disunity that existed was a political tool that was master minded by the ruling party to disorganise the PDP from taking over power in 2019 but, God in His mercy, has restored peace.
"PDP is one family, let us lay aside all side talks and accusation. It is time to build the party that bind us together as one".
"The effort to reconcile all and sundry must be total and collective", he said.
Senator Ighoyota Amori however cautioned party members not to destroy the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with their mouth or with their pen.
"Do not destroy the platform that will field you as a candidate tomorrow because, if you do that, where will you climb?"
Chief Ighoyota Amori who represented Delta Central Senatorial District of Delta state, assured that his office (The Office of the Special Adviser on Reconcilation & Conflict Management ) is now open at the Wadata Plaza (PDP National Secretariat, Abuja) to fully function in line with its mandate to stand by the NCC Chairman to reposition the party for total victory at all levels. He maintained that '2019 Beckons on PDP and it behoves on all of us to make it a reality."
We have gone beyond the blame game. PDP is one family and we must forge ahead to collectively face the challenge that is before us, Amori insisted.
Lamenting that Nigerians are suffering and hardship is everywhere, Senator Amori urged that, "we must come together to take back power and remove Nigerians from struggle. The people are wailing and waiting for PDP as the party with the solution to the nations economic crisis. It is a wake up call to us and the only way to achieve it is to put our past behind us and come together as one united force. The task ahead is more supreme than the tin matters that besset us as a party".
The former federal lawmaker commended the verdict of the nation’s apex court saying; "no doubt, the restoration of peace to PDP rekindled not just the hope of members of the PDP alone, but that of the entire Nigerian populace on the once prejudiced judicial system. The courage of the panel of justices that delivered the epoch making judgment is a big signal to the ruling APC that the nation’s judicial system would no longer be under their beck and call.
Chief Ighoyota Amori expressed confidence that, despite the grand plot to see that the PDP goes into extinction, the party was rejuvenated by the Supreme Court judgment which confirmed the authentic national leadership of the party on the Makarfi Caretaker Committee.
The nationwide excitement and jubilation by party members indeed attested to the acceptance of the Makarfi leadership that is committed to revamping the party to reclaim the presidency come 2019, he said.
