SUPREME COURT VERDICT: JONATHAN SORHUE, DANJUMA HAIL JUDICIARY, CONGRATULATES PDP

The verdict of the Justices of the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have been receiving commendation for the ruling delivered on the leadership tussle in who is the authentic chairman of the People's Democratic Party, PDP.

The torrent of commendation has poured in from all quarters and leading the list is immediate past President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.


Dr. Jonathan while commending the Judiciary for its judgment, also sent his congratulatory message to the PDP over the ruling of the Supreme Court of Nigeria which brought to end the leadership crisis bedeviling the the party.

The former President in a statement said:

     "I believe in our jurists. We may have issues with some individuals but the Nigerian judiciary deserves our respect and commendation. They have served this country well", stated.

"Today's verdict is a judgment where there are no winners or losers. It is a verdict that will bring our party together. We should all thank the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria".

"As I congratulate the Ahmed Makarfi led Caretaker Committee, I want to strongly urge them not to see this as a victory of a section of the party, but as a moral victory of constitutionality over arbitrariness".

"Thus, they must take inspiration from General Yakubu Gowon and declare a 'no victor and no vanquished policy", Jonathan admonished.

"As a senior member of the party, I hereby call on all those who left the party because of its leadership issues to return to their natural home and build the PDP".

"The PDP is an inclusive vehicle not an exclusive one. We see Nigerians as human beings deserving of the rule of law, separation of powers and a free market economy that provides a level playing ground for all".

"The party that gave Nigeria the largest economy in Africa is a party whose heart is large enough to find a place for all Nigerians".

"I thank God for this day of Justice and may God bless Nigeria", he concluded.

Other PDP stakeholders have also sent in their congratulatory messages as the expressed their joy in the ruling, bringing to rest, several months of apprehension.
Chief Eddie Ono Sorhue 

Chief Eddie Ono Sorhue, a foundation member of the PDP in Delta state and Advisory member to the government of the Senator Arthur Okowa administration says;

"You will recall in my interview with you after the Court of Appeal, I said in that interview that it was a higher purchase judgement that the Supreme Court will overturn".

"The ruling party used Modu Sheriff to silence the opposition. But now that Ahmed Makarfi is on board, you will see a viable opposition at work and I know people around Makarfi will help to achieve this", Eddie Sorhue states.

"Any government without opposition is worst than military rule" the political strategist stated.

"Yes, while the crisis lasted, some members dumped the party. They should be forgiven if they genuinely show that sign of remorse", Chief Sorhue counselled.

"Is the APC not living in borrowed robes. Majority of APC members are foundation members of the PDP and we look forward to welcome them to their party".  

"Makarfi has the capacity to revive the party with the calibre of those who remained steadfast through this long waiting".

"Do not forget that Makarfi has said he will start to work and hold a national convention soonest. He is not greedy but, a humble gentleman who, otherwise would want to cling to power as some would like to do. This is why we love him and wish him well on the task of rebuilding of great party, the PDP".
Comrade Danjuma Bello Sarki 

Comrade Danjuma Bello Sarki, a prominent youth leader of the PDP and Peesident of the Northern Youths Patriotic Front, NYPF in Kaduna stated that the victory at the Supreme Court was a "victory for democracy".

According to Comrade Sarki, "it is a victory for all political parties and a victory of light against darkness".

Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi is a leader amongst leaders in the political calculations in Nigeria whose political dexterity in strategic planning, purposeful and humble nature, will help reunite our great party, the PDP and will provide us with the required leadership to repositioning our party back to greatness, Comrade Danjuma Bello Sarki stated.

The Judiciary has proven to be independent, transparent and just by the outcome of this ruling and of course, PDP is coming to salvage Nigeria, Comrade Sarki said.

"The PDP is coming to Change the Change. Nigerians now see the difference from the lies propagated. The deceit, the height of insecurity and of course, the complete absence of vision in governance by the ruling party".

"A government that rolled into power on a platform of lies and deceit can never survive and thank God, the verdict at the Supreme Court has swept away those who don't want the PDP to survive", the youth leader stated.
