APC DELTA CONGRESS: "LET'S GIVE ROOM FOR ADEQUATE CONSULTATIONS", ENUHA SAYS

With the decision to collectively move the party forward despite disagreements earlier encountered as it relates to the APC LG Congresses, leadera of the party have come out to declare their stand pertaining to the inauguration of the State Caucus, Senatorial District Committee and functional Committees.


In a statement issued in Delta state, the leaders stated that the attention of the Chairman of Delta state Elders Forum, Chief Engr. Hyacinth Enuha, was earlier today drawn to the publication by the state chapter of APC and signed by the Acting Publicity Secretary, Engr. Leonard Obibi.

According to the statement, "in the said publication which appeared in page 41 of today's Vanguard Newspaper, the modalities for the selection of members into the various standing committees negated the agreement reached by all the Leaders of the party in their last meeting held in Abuja where they all agreed to move the party forward but by working collectively as a team and family".

"However, while the nomination for the "State Caucus" was strictly followed in line with the party's constitutional provisions for it, the various and other functional committees listed are in total disregard to inclusive and consultative politics which has been the missing ingredient to finally restore peace in our great party", the statement read.

The statement which was signed by Nnamdi O. Ofonye, Media Assistant to Chief (Engr) Enuha further stated that; "Consequent upon this, while I align myself with the inauguration of the State Caucus as planned on Friday the 4th of August, I strongly reject that of the various functional committees and as such, should be suspended to a later date. This is to give room for adequate and extensive consultations across board before the various committees can be drawn and a new date for inauguration announced".

"Finally, despite the fact that politics is a game of intrigues, it is also a game of and for Gentlemen where agreements are bound to be respected to the letter  especially as it concerns Delta state chapter of our great party APC if really we are sincere and committed to bringing to an end the PDP reign in the state", it concluded.
