Nigeria's ailing President Muhammadu Buhari who has been away from the country on medical treatment in the United Kingdom, is expected back home, later today, Saturday, August 19, 2017.
This was the disclosure of the President's Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) Femi Adesina in a statement issued this morning in Abuja.
According to Femi Adeshina, "President Buhari is expected to speak to Nigerians in a broadcast by 7 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017".
"He thanks all Nigerians who have prayed ceaselessly for his recovery and well-being since the beginning of the health challenge".
NAIJ NEWS ALERT recalls that President Buhari left Nigeria in May 7 this year, in continuation of his medical treatment after fulfilling the necessary Constitutional requirement by handing over power to his Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who has performed the functions of Acting President since then.
Nigerians have been expectant of the President's return while many social media sites have been awash with varying tales.
