FUPRE BILL: ONUESOKE THROWS WEIGHT BEHIND REP. OBOROH
The issue of who is the actual sponsor and facilitator of the Bill on the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, in Warri Delta state has continued to generate controversies.
A chieftain of the Peoples' Democratic Party, PDP and one time Governorship aspirant in Delta State, Chief Sunny Onuesoke has thrown his weight behind the member representing Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Constituency at the Federal House of Reps, Hon. (Barr.) Evelyn Oboroh over the media war surrounding the passage of the FUPRE bill into Law.
A press statement signed and released to Journalists by his Media Aide, Stanley Efe, the PDP Chieftain stated that Oboroh initiated the bill and should be commended instead of trying to humiliate her because of selfish, egoistic and political interest.
Onuesoke called on PDP faithfuls to see this "media war" as an affront on PDP by the ruling party APC and therefore should stand against it without fear or favour.
"I have observed and noticed an usual "silence" by PDP members regards the media war between one of our own, Hon. Evelyn Oboro and APC Senator Omo-Agege".
This is disheartening and absurd. This "war" should not be personalized. Its between PDP and APC, not Oboroh VS Omo-AGEGE. It is a clear case of APC trying to discredit PDP by claiming the "glory" for the passage of this bill.
"It is on record that Chief Ighoyota Amori (of PDP) also made useful contributions towards the passage of that bill. Omo-Agege trying to silent our sister's voice and claim all the glory is an affront on PDP which should be resisted by all PDP members, chieftains and stakeholders. We should not keep quiet. It should be seen as a PDP affair and not Oboroh's issue".
"Oboroh single handedly initiated that bill at a time Omo-Agege was still running from one political party to the other. She should be commended and not witch hunted for political reasons" he stated.
