"I Can Rebel If Necessary"......Tinubu

National leader of the ruling All progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has debunked the news making the rounds in the media that his relationsip with Muhammadu Buhari has broken down.



Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, regarded as the master strategist of the political calculations of the South west, is not known to shy away from speaking his mind, and rebelling if necessary.

1. The APC Chieftain who, for some time now has been silent in the polity for the past months owing to allegedly being sidelined by a group close to the President with the knowledge and support of President Buhari, opened up after his meeting with the President today at the Presidential Villa.

Speaking to State House correspondents after meeting with President Buhari, Tinubu who is fondly addressed as "Jagaban", denied the report that his once cordial relationship with the President Muhammadu Buhar had broken down.

Addressing newsmen, Bola Ahmed Tinubu disclosed that his meeting with the President was fruitful and also expressed confidence in the APC.

“I just met with the President. Our discussion was fruitful, productive and it was about the country and leadership as a whole. And that got him excited and happy", he said.

“I have confidence in this President, there is no doubt about that. We worked hard to bring about the government, there are certain things that are unpredictable and those are things that can lend itself to gossips, insinuations and all of that".

“You know me. I am not known to shy away from talking my mind and rebelling if it is necessary and taking charge of things that I believe are necessary".

Tasked on the likely decision of Buhari to re-contest in 2019, following the clamour by different groups and individuals, Tinubu had told journalists not to discuss the clamour with him;

“Don’t discuss that one with me", was his terse response.

The APC National leader while responding to questions on the presence of a cabal in the Presidency, had asked: “What is the myth in this leadership thing? What is cabal? It’s a myth", he said.

“We are the party of the people for the people and by the people and this is a democratic environment. Each of us has our roles to play and that is why we are playing it".

“I don’t believe in the myth, I believe in confidence building, the trust that we have in the President. In the journey of democracy, you are going to have twists and turns and you are going to have conflicts".

"Conflicts resolution mechanisms is inbuilt on how you handle your party and the governance and the party are joined by the hips", Asiwaju Tinubu stressed.
