ISHK TOLARAM, INDOMIE COLLABORATE, PROVIDES FREE ARTIFICIAL LIMBS TO NIGERIANS IN KADUNA
The event which took place at the premises of Northern Noodles (INDOMIE), 168 Kachia road, Kaduna, makers of Instant Noodle which, today is a regular feature in many homes in Nigeria with its quality taste, value and affordability, saw several persons with various forms of disability who had come to receive prosthesis, free of charge.
Speaking with NAIJ NEWS ALERT, Neha Mehra, Project Head of ISHK TOLARAM Foundation, disclosed that her organization in collaboration with Indomie and CAPWD chose to provide persons with disabilities as part of the Corporate Social Responsibilities CSR at absolute no cost to the beneficiaries.

While such an event would have attracted much media publicity and hype, ISHK TOLARAM Foundation and its partners; Indomie and CAPWD prefer to reach out directly to persons with disabilities instead of going public. Over five hundred (500) beneficiaries from Katsina, Kano, Gombe, Taraba, Bauchi and the host state of Kaduna were on ground to benefit from the free artificial limbs provided.
According to Neha Mehra, “we want to make an impact in the society and impacting on the lives of the people, making mobility easy for the and helping them improve their productivity”.
“This comes in three (3) stages; the first stage is the measurement where the beneficiaries who are registered with us are measured out (in our three centres located in Lagos, Port-Harcourt and Kaduna) in the morning. The second stage is the fabrication as those measured wait while the fabrication takes place and the limbs are fitted the same day. After it is fitted, we train them on how to walk and this is the final stage”.
“It is an entire days’ activity. They come in the morning with crutches but leave here walking home without those crutches anymore and, as you can see, there are children and the elderly here who have benefitted from this gesture which is just a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR to the society”.

On funding, the Project Head of ISHK TOLARAM Foundation disclosed that, “TOLARAM GROUP whic is a well known company in Nigeria, as it has been on ground since 1976, started this initiative and we are being sponsored by HM TOLARAM Foundation since the beginning and we also get help from collaborating companies like INDOMIE that has given us the space and logistics while also providing meals for beneficiaries. What you see here is covered by INDOMIE”.
“We also have Centre for Advocacy for Persons With Disabilities; CAPWD, another organization that has helped us collect these people who need these prosthesis”.
“Every time like this, there is always collaboration with NGO’s, State Governments or, any group of company of the TOLARAM Group”.
Some of the beneficiaries spoken to, expressed gratitude to INDOMIE and ISHK TOLARAM Foundation for coming to their aid by providing them with artificial limbs, free of charge and described the act as an “act of God” when they least expected that they would be able to obtain such artificial limbs that would enable them walk again or use their hands.

One of the beneficiaries, Matthew Luka who came from came in from Bauchi state, could not hide his joy as he tried to get used to the idea of walking without his crutches after several years as he prayed to God to continue to provide the wherewithal to INDOMIE and ISHK TOLARAM Foundation including other collaborative partners for this commendable effort.
