SHOCKING: Dead Men Make Buhari's List of Appointments

The applause that trailed the announcement of the appointment of two hundred and nine persons as Chairmen of Board of Federal parastatals has become an embarrassment as no fewer than three (3) dead persons made the list.



Described as a national embarrassment, critics of the Buhari administration says it's a clear attestation that the President's aides are failing in their responsibilities in providing their principal with the right information, thereby, dragging their principal into public opprobrium.

Information available to this medium reveals that the list of appointments as announced late Friday night shows that, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed late Revered Father Christopher Utov, a Benue born Catholic Priest, to serve as a member on Board Nigeria Institute of Social and Economic Research.

Investigation shows the clergyman died on March 18 2017.

In apparent proof of poor communication and a lack of proper scrutiny, the president's aides also bungled it as another name; Chief Donald Ugbaja appeared in the list of appointees.

The late Ugbaja, a former DIG of Police who died in 29 November 2017 was also appointed as a Member of the Consumer Protection Council, CPC.

Bringing the numbers to three of dead persons appointed is the late Senator Francis Okpozo as Chairman of the Nigeria Press Council, NPC.

Senator Francis Okpozo, was an astute politician and an elder of the All Progressives Congress, APC died some months ago, at the age of 81 years. The late Senator Okpozo was a political collosus and a respected leader in Ozoro, Isoko and Delta state in general.

However, while many fault the composition of the the lists of appointees, especially with the names of dead persons being included, many say the fault should be with the President's aides who did not carry out the necessary checks and make proper updates before presenting the president with it for his signature.

Further investigation revealed that, the names of all the appointees were actually submitted in 2015 when Muhammadu Buhari after he was sworn into office but his delay in ratifying the appointments was the reason behind the appearance of those nanes.
