WORKERS SACK IN KADUNA STATE: PDP RISES IN DEFENSE OF CIVIL SERVANTS

Hon. Felix Hassan Hyat
The sacking of civil servants in Kaduna state by the Nasir el-Rufai led APC government has continued to generate condemnation from stakeholders and leaders alike, including criticisms from even his party members.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Kaduna State Chapter has lent its weight behind the cry of the people  to condemn the continuous sacking of civil servants.

In a statement issued and signed by the state Publicity Secretary, Mr. Abraham Alberah Catoh which was made available to NAIJ NEWS ALERT, chairman of the state chapter, Hon. Felix Hassan Hyat, the party's entire executives has condemned the sack of civil servants in the state and threats of sacking of more teachers.

According to the statement, workers who participated in the on going teachers' strike in the state by the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru El-Rufai, have also been threatened with sack, should it continue.

"We strongly support the current mass action embarked upon by teachers in the state, as it is a legal means for all civil servants to seek redress on the injustice presently meted out on them by the oppressive and repressive APC administration in the state".

"The illegal and undemocratic sack of teachers and other civil servants in the state has apparently shows that the El-Rufai government is insensitive and outrightly poised to increase the level of unemployment and poverty in the state, instead of alleviating it".

The PDP, in the statement said; "the incessant sack of civil servants in the state if allowed to continue unabated, would definitely lead to high rate of crime, social vices and would dampened the morale of civil servants in the state".

"The leadership of the party can't fathom why the El-Rufai government would appropriate the sum of N1billion in the 2018 budget for the construction of new legislative quarters, after selling the ones on ground and numerous government houses across the state at a cheap price to friends and cronies, in line with its so called monetization policy".

"With this, the El-Rufai's administration has obviously demonstrated it's penchant for deception, policy inconsistency and summersault. All aimed at deceiving the public, in other to curry their support as we approach the 2019 general elections", the statement read.

"We condemn this act in its entirety, for it's another ploy to fleece the resources of the people of our state of their collective common wealth", the statement concluded.

It is obviously regrettable that the APC rudderless government is now using non-indigenes to embezzle and siphon our state funds under fictitious projects and consultancy contracts, which has no bearing or direct impact on the masses of the state. This must be stopped for the betterment of our people.

The wanton massacre, burning and kidnap of innocent citizens and traditional rulers in the state is a clear demonstration of the government's ineptitude and lack of capacity to curb the insecurity challenge bedevilling the state.

We wish to assure the people of the state that we greatly feel your pains and are in complete solidarity with you. We shall address your predicaments when you support us to victory in the forthcoming (2019) elections.

The PDP leadership wish to reiterate its commitment to reinstate all unjustly sacked civil servants, just like we did in the past, in the state back to their office, when we take over power in 2019.

We call on all and sundry to use their permanent voters cards(PVC) rightly, to vote out this fascist, repressive, retrogressive, insensitive  unfocused and inept government of the APC, with a PDP progressive and people-oriented Government by 2019.
