DELTA CENTRAL SENATORIAL RACE 2019: PDP Chieftain; Akpeki Tells Other Contestants To Step Aside For Amori

Akpeki made this known in a statement issued by Barrister Fred Oghenesivbe, Executive Assistant, Communications to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, even as he endorsed Senator Ighoyota Amori as the annointed one for the party's Delta Central Senatorial ticket.
The PDP top notcher stated this when Senator Amori and members of his campaign organisation paid him a visit in continuation of his on-going consultations across the eight local government areas of the district.
According to him, Amori is one of the founding fathers of PDP who deserves the support of party faithfuls in Delta Central.
He advised other senatorial aspirants to honourably and respectfully step aside for Amori.
It would be recalled that, Akpeki who returned to the PDP immediately he discovered that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a party built on propaganda and deceit, warned that; "if younger members of the party refuse to accord respect and loyalty to the founding fathers of the party, a time will also come when they shall be dispised".
"Amori is a truly committed and loyal party man who has and is still assisting new and old members of PDP and people across the state to achieve their political ambitions", Akpeki stated.
Adding that it will be out of place for those Amori helped to build politically to now turn their back on him, Akpeki urged all to support Amori, saying;
"Amori has done well as a committed member of our party. He helped to build the party structure in Delta and remained loyal till date without history of defection".
"He was elected in 2015 but some political robbers came and dispossessed him of the mandate our people gave to him. Amori won at the Court of Appeal but surprisingly, something new was crafted and a second verdict by the same court gave our mandate to the Labour Party and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege; a man Amori nurtured to maturity politically".
"We hear Omo-Agege has been suspended for 90 legislative days over his usual overzealousness and busy body".
"Nemesis is gradually catching up with him because, the wicked shall never go unpunished", Chief Paulinus Akpeki intoned.
"Amori needs the total support of leaders, chieftains and party men, women and youths of Delta Central hence, all hands must be on deck to ensure his landslide victory, come 2019".
Senator Amori, his response, thanked PDO Akpeki for the warm reception and hospitality accorded him and members of his campaign organisation.
Accordingto him, "Delta Central has been painted black with no voice at the Senate as a result of the suspension of Ovie Omo-Agege".
Adding that, "in the history of Delta Central politics, no serving Senator has been disgraced at the Red Chambers the way and manner Agege was treated like a leper".
"I promise to give the much needed quality representation to the good people of Delta Central without using my position to bring shame and disgrace to our people", he said.
"The Agege lesson is a bitter pill Urhobo nation had to swallow even though we do not deserve this level of poor representation and unnecessary show of shame".
"The consultation is ongoing, and we need you and your teeming supporters which is why we decided to visit and to ask for your support", Senator Amori appealed.
"We got more than what we came here to ask of you. You went further to advise other aspirants to step aside; a show of love that will linger in my memory for life", Chief Amori added.
