NITDA'S Computer Literacy Training Programme Applauded

Information and Computer Technology in Nigeria is getting the right attention following what many have attributed to the innovations and policies being introduced by the National Information and Technology Development Agency, NITDA.

With its management team, under the leadership of Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, the Agency has successfully brought about tremendous improvements in the ICT sector, especially in government's Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDA's and this also includes the private sector.

NITDA recently, commenced a computer literacy training programme in Jigawa state to capture the northwestern region of the country.

The month long training is targeted at women in the region and it is an initiative of the current leadership of the Agency aimed at supporting the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Jigawa state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Badru who played host, commended the Dr. Pantami led management team saying;

“Jigawa state is particularly grateful to the current Director General of NITDA , for his relentless commitment to the development of ICT in the state and indeed, the country in general". 

"This is the first time a training of this nature , specifically aimed at empowering women, is taking place in the state”. 

Badru pledged his administration’s unrelenting support to the Agency and pledged that the investment will be closely monitored to ensure it yields the desired fruits.

The NITDA boss urged participants to take full advantage of the opportunity to acquire the requisite skills needed to empower themselves intellectually and financially. 

“When you educate a woman, you educate a nation and the world of technology is moving at a pace so fast, that it will be detrimental  to us as a nation, if we overlook the immense potential inherent in women”, Dr. Pantami stated.
