PRESIDENT BUHARI IS A DESPOTIC LEADER, NOT A PROMISE KEEPER AND PERPETUALLY INCOMPETENT - BARRISTER FRED OGHENESIVBE.

Barr. Fred Oghenesivbe
Public affairs commentator and Barrister at Law,  Dr. (Barrister) Fred Oghenesivbe has again described President Muhammadu Buhari as a despotic and grossly incompetent leader whose tenure has been characterised by deceit, divide and rule,  monumental corruption, divisive ethnic colouration and tribal bigotry.

Oghenesivbe made the assertion at a live political and public affairs programme; "ISSUES" aired on Delta Television on Tuesday 10th April, 2018 in Asaba.

Oghenesivbe who is a full member of the Nigerian Institute of Interntional Affairs (NIIA) posited that Buhari is not a promise keeper, adding that his conclusion  was hinged on the implementation of the anti corruption crusade flavoured by partisan favouritism, paddy paddy soft landing and political victimization.

According to the legal luminary, the fight against corruption searchlight is beamed on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members, especially key leaders who refused to defect to the ruling APC.

He added that, the likes of Orji Uzor Kalu, Senator Obanikoro and several others faced with monumental corruption cases are currently under APC and Buhari's protection after defection from PDP to APC.

"To be a saint in this dispensation, all you need do as an indicted  politician is to defect to the APC.  Sizeable number of APC governors were key players in PDP from 1999 to 2014. Over 85% of APC national assembly members were leaders and chieftains of PDP including past governors, the Senate President, Speaker of House of Representatives and Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, et al.

"It's therefore surprising to note that all former members, leaders and governors in PDP who are now in APC suddenly became saint and excluded from list of looters. They are now clean, perfect gentlemen and women without blemish. Commonsense principles easily faults Buhari administration for paying lip service to fight against corruption.

"APC and Mr President in 2015, promised Nigerians heaven on earth but the reverse is the case today. The only achievement of the Buhari administration is BLAME GAME, period.

"It's obvious that President Buhari is not a promise keeper and therefore lacks integrity; and because he lack integrity; Nigerians shall vote him and APC out in 2019," Oghenesivbe said.

On Rule of Law and Separation of Power in constitutional democracy, Oghenesivbe who is a Barrister at Law and Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications, observed that the enormous powers concentrated on executive governors and the President have been deliberately abused by some elected leaders who uses their executive powers to truncate the principles of separation of power and rule of law.

"Jungle justice, delay in dispensation of justice influenced by the executive arm, corruption in the judiciary and well funded political victimization jointly and severally accounted for the breach of the rule of law and separation of powers.

"Until cost of running elections are reduced drastically, institutions and enduring structures put in place to check abuse of electionering processes,  the executive arm shall continue to use procured political powers to coerce the judiciary and legislative arms of government to achieve political, individual and group interests.

"There are some elected representatives with questionable characters, some have long history of fake lifestyles which now reflects negatively in their service to the people. This sad development has been traced to political godfatherism and imposition of candidates; a trend that must be checked and tamed so as to allow rule of law and separation of power to prevail in our nascent democracy.

"Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) is a classic example of political prisoner under APC national government led by Buhari.  He has been held under strange circumstances thereby negating the rule of law, denial of substantial dispensation of justice.

"The former National Security Adviser is a victim of despotic leadership, prolong vengeance and  political victimization under President Buhari, over what political analysts attributed to  unreconcilabe fracas while serving in the military. This should not be.

The rule of law and separation of power are essential ingridients of constitutional democrqcy and must be allowed to happen", Oghenesivbe added.
