APC WARNS HUNKUYI, OTHERS TO STAY AWAY FROM ITS 5th MAY CONGRESSES
All seems to be set for the clash of giants within the Kaduna state chapter of the APC as the party has warned it's expelled members to stay away from its 5th 2018 Congresses.
Top among the expelled members is Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, representing Kaduna North Senatorial District in the Senate whose property housing the factional Secretariat of the APC was demolished few months ago.
According to Alhaji Yahaya Baba Pate, Acting Secretary of the APC in Kaduna, the decision of the party asking the expelled members to stay away from the party's congresses scheduled to hold on the 5th of May 2018 was based on intelligence reports at the disposal of the party that Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi and his associates are plotting to disrupt the congresses.
The Acting Secretary while addressing the media at the party's Secretariat along Ali Akilu road, said;
"Senator Hunkuyi and his expelled associates are planning to destabilize the congresses across the state".
"We wish to inform members of the general public that the party has uncovered Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi’s illegal attempt to undermine the APC’s congresses in Kaduna State", Baba Pate stated.
According to Alhaji Yahaya Pate, "In line with the provisions of the APC’s constitution, the party membership of Senator Hunkuyi was suspended on the 17h February 2018, for offenses related to factionalizing the party and anti-party activities".
"Several of his associates were also expelled from the party on the same day for gross violations of party discipline".
"Due to the suspension of his membership, Senator Hunkuyi cannot directly or indirectly participate in the activities of the APC or convene any gathering in the name of the party, contrary to what he is presently doing".
"There are reports that thugs and mercenaries are being assembled for this purpose".
" The leadership of the party will hold suspended Senator Hunkuyi responsible for any breakdown of law and order in the course of our congresses".
"While Hunkuyi is a suspended member, most of his associates have lost their party membership by expulsion".
"They have nothing at stake and, are merely engaging in impersonation to try to undermine a party that has rightly removed them from its ranks".
The Kaduna State APC has alerted security agencies to take measures that will guarantee security and ensure the protection of life and property of members and officials from the National leadership, that will conduct the congresses across the state, Pate disclosed.
"For the umpteenth time, we are warning, suspended Senator Hunkuyi and his co-travelers to desist from interfering in our activities".
On the recent attack carried out against Senator Hunkuyi and some of his associates, Alhaji Yahaya Pate noted that; "we are law abiding and a responsible party that cannot involve in violence".
"Our government is a decent government that is busy day and night implementing our party’s manifestos to the the good people of Kaduna State and cannot involve in violence".
"They are stage managing their attacks for sympathy and we know it. We hold freedom of speech and association of people in high esteem and we cannot engage in violence against anybody", he added.
