CEFAM Congratulates Atiku For Saturday's Declaration; "Mr. Restructuring Is Best Suited To Lead Nigeria"... Group Says

The contest for securing the various tickets, especially for the presidential election in 2019, is beginning to gather storm as heavyweights in the race, are all making public, their intents and declaration.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar GCON, regarded as one of the very frontliners and major contender for the ticket of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, penultimate Saturday, in Yola, Adamawa state, has formally declared his intention to seek for the office of President, come 2019.


In a mega rally which virtually shutdown the entire Adamawa state, the progenitor of "Restructuring of Nigeria was the cynosure of all at the event which has thousandsof supporters on ground to witness the declaration while several millions were glued to their television sets across the globe.

Celebrities For Atiku Movement, CEFAM, a group of entertainment gurus who are highly supportive of the aspirations of the former Vice President and Wazirin Adamawa,  His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON, in a statement issued and signed the National Convener, Mazi Dickson Iroegbu DGN, thanked the former Nigeria Number Two Citizen for his leadership and decision to come out and seek to take the lead in rescuing the country from grip of the current leadership.

According to Mazi Dickson Iroegbu, in his press statement, "thanked the leader we love to call "Mr. Restructuring", for the Mega Rally in Yola, Adamawa State which held on Saturday 21st July, 2018 following his nationwide political consultations to garner support and solicit votes from would-be PDP delegates from the North East in particular and Nigeria in general, to ensure his total victorious emergence as the presidential flagbearer of his party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 presidential elections".


The CEFAM coordinator in his statement, a copy which was made available to Naij News Alert, disclosed that, "the historical city of Yola was full of life on Saturday as former Vice President and presidential aspirant of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) formally declared his desire to run for the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria".

"CEFAM was on ground to receive him at the declaration which took place at the Ribadu Square in Yola, the capital of city of Adamawa State".

The declaration which attracted big wigs and critical stakeholders of the People's Democratic Party from the North East geopolitical zone and the rest of the zones in the North, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP represented by its National Chairman, the indefatigable Prince Uche Secondus, top Nollywood actors and actresses and celebrities amongst whom are Dickson Iroegbu, Paul Play IK Dairo, Mr. Ibu, were all on ground to witness the epoch declaration.

While announcing his declaration to contest the 2019 presidential election, Atiku remarked that the current APC government had performed below bar on managing the economy, keeping the country united and stemming the trend of wanton loss of lives in the country.
“Fellow Nigerians, the government of APC has failed, it has failed to unite Nigerians, Atiku said.

"Today, we are more divided than in any other time in the history of this country", he added.

According to him, "the APC government has destroyed our economy. They took over an economy with a growth of 7 per cent and brought it down to less than 2 per cent.

"Today, we are witnessing the most insecure situation in Nigeria ever since APC took over".

The PDP presidential aspirant noted that more people have died in Nigeria under the APC than in Iran and Afghanistan even as the country’s economy continues to flounder".

"Today, we have the highest unemployment rate in this country. More than 10 million of our people have been made unemployed under the watch of the APC administration".

Atiku however, said that he is poised to work with other compatriots in the PDP to secure the party’s nomination for the next year’s election and rebuild the economy and reunite the country.

"What the PDP is going to do is to restore our economy, restore hope of a greater Nigeria and ensure that we have security of lives and property".

"I therefore, appeal to all of you wherever you may be that, it is time to now embrace the party that has given us unity, prosperity and security in this country".

At the occasion which witnessed a massive defection of thousands of APC members, the Adamawa state Chairman of the PDP, Barr. Tahir Shehu welcomed the new defectors into the PDP.

Mazi Nnamdi Dickson Iroegbu (DGN), Convener & National Coordinator of Celebrities for Atiku Movement (CEFAM), on behalf of the National Executive Officers of CEFAM and the entire distinguished members of CEFAM across the nation, congratulated His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON (Wazirin Adamaw) for the successful declaration for the 2019 presidential race, thereby heeding to the call made by CEFAM.

"We want to thank the Wazirin Adamawa for heeding to our call in our earlier visit to him on 11th of February, 2018 to face the fear of the unknown to declare his intention and together we shall get Nigeria working again", Iroegbu stated.
