DELTA CENTRAL SENATORIAL CONTEST: Forum Endorses Amori. Tells Other Aspirants To Take A Bow

Senator Ighoyota Amori
Ahead of the 2019 general elections, an eminent group of elders from the Delta Central Senatorial District has called on aspirants seeking to contest for ticket to step down for Senator Ighoyota Amori.

The group, which is the Forum of President-Generals of Urhobo Kingdoms gave this assertion and endorsed the candidacy of Ighoyota Amori as it advised other aspirants to take a bow, when the Senatorial hopeful paid them a visit.

This much was disclosed by Barr. Fred Oghenesivbe in a statement made available to the media, penultimate week when Ighoyota Amori, a Senatorial aspirant for the Delta Central Senatorial District of the state paid a visit to a Forum of former President-Generals of the UPU.

According to Oghenesivbe, "Thursday 12th July 2018, shall be remembered for decades to come in the history and development of strategic politics in Urhobo Nation of Delta Central Senatorial District in Delta State, South-South Nigeria; as Forum of President-Generals endorsed one of the foremost leader of Urhobo ethnic nationality, Senator Ighoyota Amori, for 2019 senatorial race".

"The apex body of the Urhobo socio-cultural organisation ably represented by members from each Kingdom played host to Senator Amori at Uvwie Town Hall where they unanimously adopted him as Urhobo Nation's sole and consensus candidate for 2019 senatorial elections; and in the same token urged all other aspirants to step down and join forces with all sons and daughters of Urhobo ethnic nationality to mobilize eligible voters for Amori's landslide victory".

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, head of the Forum, Chief Patrick Obakponovwe stated that Amori has been consistent in his unblemished advocacy and practical efforts towards the socioeconomic development and political advancement of Urhobo Nation for several decades and still counting.

"Amori is a rare gem in terms of modesty, humility and truly love our people so dearly that, his many years in politics attests to the reason why he deserves our support for the office of a distinguished senator representing Urhobo Nation at the Senate come 2019".

"We have it on record how Amori facilitated several political appointments for our people at both local, state and federal levels; and the most painful part is the boldness of some of these people he nurtured and assisted to break even in politics who are today his major contenders for the 2019 senatorial race".

"It's a total mark of disrespect and arrogant display of ungratefulness for such human elements raised politically by Amori to turn their back on him at a time he needed them most".

"The Forum of President-Generals of Urhobo Kingdoms will never fold our hands to watch some baby politicians to pay Amori with evil, and as such we hereby order other aspirants for the 2019 senatorial race in Delta Central to withdraw their ambitions and collapse structures to fully support Amori, going forward.

"Amori have sponsored and participated in several programmes and activities of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) at home and abroad; and none of the other aspirants can fault him on his total commitment to the service of Urhobo Nation in particular and Delta State in general.

"We recall that during his tenure as Honourable Commissioner for Education, the Delta State University recorded superlative progress in terms of infrastructure development and equipping the institution to excel. Amori, it was who worked so hard to ensure that the University got a befitting permanent site and also gingered government to establish other institutions in various parts of the state.

"We are determined to drive Amori's 2019 Delta Central Senatorial ambition to a logical conclusion. Our people in various Urhobo Kingdoms shall be well briefed through multifaceted medium to avoid doubts and to counter any form of propaganda and half truths that may be peddled by these ungrateful elements who are now robbing shoulders with their political leader, Senator AmoriI," Obakponovwe added.

In the same vein, The Secretary General of the Forum, Chief Kenneth Iwhewhe disclosed that Amori has the blessing of all royal fathers in Urhobo Nation, and corroborated the order issued by Obakponovwe, which is to the effect that, all other aspirants for Senate in Delta Central should take a bow and work for the victory of Amori, come 2019.

Senator Amori in his acceptance speech thanked the Forum members for counting him worthy of their consensus endorsement and promised to attract star projects to the district through working harmoniously with his colleagues at the red chambers.

"You know me too well. I don't have mischievous and radical background to steal mace or sponsor the stealing of mace.  I am going to the Senate to re-build the bad image created and engineered by present occupant of Delta Central seat at the red chamber. He was recently recommended by the joint National Assembly committee to serve 180 days suspension for exhibiting conduct unbecoming of a distinguished senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

"I will forever remember this day in the history of Delta Central politics and in my political career. I am indebted to you and the good people of Delta Central and I shall pay through viable projects and socioeconomic empowerment of our people from May 29, 2019, as your Senator representing Urhobo Nation," Amori said
