2019 General Elections. TO HELL WITH PDP GENTLEMAN POLITICS. ...GOV OKOWA MUST NOT LISTEN TO APC AGENTS IN THE SYSTEM, THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. By Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq.
I was pained when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) needlessly lost Ekiti governorship election to the crude and brutal All Progressive Congress (APC), led by a heartless thug in the person of Mr Adams Oshiomole. That electioneering event silenced the vocal voice of Gov Ayodele Fayose, one of the leading light of PDP. He felt deserted by the party.
On the day of election, instead of PDP leaders to rally round Gov Fayose, some of them were in Abeokuta to consult former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Why the party leadership decided to assemble themselves in Abeokuta while governorship election was going on in EKITI beat sincere imagination.
PDP lost and now in Court to contest APC victory. I am not comfortable with the attitude of the party towards state elections. I don't see unity of purpose among the PDP governors as well as the party NWC; it is a worrisome development that must be tackled as we go into general elections.
In Osun state governorship elections, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Osun PDP fought and gave victory to PDP but INEC election riggers in collaboration with APC declared the election inconclusive and fixed a date for run off election. And instead of PDP leadership and the governors to quickly woo Senator Iyiola Omisore and mobilize forces to put up a radical fight, they left the struggle for Adeleke and Osun PDP.
APC leadership capitalized on PDP weakness and a powerful delegation led by Adams Oshiomole struck juicy political and electioneering deals with Omisore backed by massive vote buying, mayhem and police protection. While PDP focused on her national convention arrangements, APC focused on winning Osun Re-Run election at all cost and forcefully ran away with unscrupulous victory.
No doubt, APC is a radical party and hell bent on winning the 2019 general elections. PDP on the other hand is preaching peace and the practice of gentleman politics which we all know is allien to partisan politics in Africa. There are no gentleman elections anywhere in the world. Donald Trump and Senator Hilary Clinton's presidential election contest remains a reference point in radical electioneering battles.
PDP lost to APC in 2015 simply because some betrayals in PDP preached gentleman politics at a time APC was vomiting fire and bashing PDP to an untimely fall. APC employed the services of an American propaganda firm and they reduced PDP to an insignificant party and won the 2015 general elections. APC is at it again and PDP is watching like a gentleman.
In Delta State, there are APC agents in the system, some of them occupying top positions in government, preaching the gospel of gentleman politics. They are happy anytime APC leaders and propagandists are running down Okowa administration but ironically very angry whenever APC and it's leaders are berated for either directly or indirectly attacking Gov Okowa or PDP. They do so to protect their political associates in APC, acting a well rehearsed political script in favour of APC.
I am pretty sure that Gov Okowa is not ignorant of the devices of these political enemies within the system and must of a necessity ignore their self centered advise and prepare for war in 2019.
The results of Ekiti and Osun governorship elections goes to show that Adams Oshiomole and APC radical election riggers shall unleash mayhem in a more fierce dimension in Delta State, through comprehensive political thuggery, police and military brutality as well as well funded political alliances with the principal intention of achieving Oshiomole's threat of forcefully taking over power in the state.
This is not the time for gentleman politics.
