NUHU BAMALI POLY: CULT GROUPS AT WAR; ONE REPORTED DEAD

Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, Zaria in the Northwest state of Kaduna is reportedly earning a new reputation for itself, as a base for criminal gangs operating under cult groups that have now made the institution, unconducive for learning.

Reports reaching Naij News Alert reveals that these gangs now unleash terror on one another through violent clashes which, in several instances, result to bodily harm being inflicted on themselves. It therefore becomes imperative that the necessary bodies, particularly, the security agencies tackle this menace before it spirals out of control.

Sources in the institution revealed that the criminal activities of these gangs have made life, especially at the annex, unhealthy following a bloody clash by rival gangs few week that a student badly wounded with over twenty five stab wounds inflicted on his body.

The cult groups; the Black Axe and Airlords were reported to have clashed at the Polytechnic’s annex which caused pandemonium amongst students.

In retaliation, on the 15th of September at about 11pm, a student suspected to be a member of the Black Axe was reportedly butchered to death by suspected members of the Airlords in return.

The effect of such incidences in the educational environment has its negative implications on morale of students and the community.
Investigations however, reveals that the Police have made arrests and  that investigations are currently being carried out.
