In pursuit of achieving its aims and objectives which is targeted at the development of sports, particularly, footballers at all spheres of the game, the National Association of Nigeria Footballers, NANF strongly believes that education is the key.

Football and education must go along simultaneously if the game and its practitioners must develop.

According to the National President of NANF, Larry Kubeinje, there is a strong need to develop practitioners of the game to avoid the painful situation whereby, a player retires without any means of livelihood.

Kubeinje disclosed that, in addressing this challenge which has negated on the lives of practitioners after retirement, the association is coming out with a programme that will equip sportsmen and and women for a life after active service.

Speaking to Naij News Alert, Kubeinje said the NANF is partnering with a foreign sports outfit that will provide trainings and other programmes which will prepare Footballers for coaching and management jobs that would put them at par with their contemporaries, overseas.

"In this regard, the association (NANF) in conjunction with BLAUGRANA GROUP is organising an intensive coaching training for all footballers.  Coaching instructuors from Europe and America are going to be on ground, thereafter successful participants would be issued with training certificate that should enable them access coaching and managers job in any part of the football world", Kubeinje stated.

"Normally, such programs attract participation fee of 1000Euro . But in the particular program participants will not pay as the course and training materials are free" the NANF President revealed.

Further details, according to Larry Kubeinje, shall be provided to enable all interested coaches participate.
