BREAKING NEWS: AKWA IBOM INEC OFFICE SET ABLAZE

With less than 24hrs to the 2019 Governorship/ State Assembly elections across the country, the Akwa Ibom  office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has been burnt down by persons suspected to be political thugs.

The arson on the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom was reported to have occurred in the early hours of Friday morning.

According to available reports, the thugs who are suspected to be working for one of the prominent politicians in the area, made the move in a bid to force the postponement of the elections in the state. 

The incident reportedly affected some of the card readers but for the timely intervention of people around, sensitive election materials would have been destroyed.
