CIVIL SERVANTS CHARGED ON PROPER TIME UTILIZATION

"The entire life is a phase. So also is the service years; we all have the entering point and the exit. Let us all utilise the years of service to serve the nation, in order order to fast-track the development of Nigeria"..... Bisalla.

Civil servants have been advised to properly, utilize their time for service, during and after service years.

The advise came from Alhaji Aminu Aliyu Bisalla, Permanent Secretary in charge of the Niger Delta Affairs Ministry

He made this known on Friday, 19th July in Abuja, the nation's capital at a send-forth ceremony organised by the Ministry in honour of the former Chairman, Association of Senior Civil servants of Nigeria and Joint Union Negotiating Council in the Ministry, Mr Benjamin Esekhaigbe, who retired from the civil service recently.

In a statement issued and signed by Mr. Stephen Kilebi, Deputy Director (Press) in the Ministry, the Permanent Secretary said;

"The entire life is a phase. So also is the service years; we all have the entering point and the exit. Let us all utilise the years of service to serve the nation, in order order to fast-track the development of Nigeria", Bisalla stressed.

He commended the retiree, Mr. Benjamin Esekhaigbe who according to the Permanent Secretary, was one of the pioneer staff of the Ministry, for his outstanding performance in the service and as the Union Chairman.

The Permanent Secretary added that the Ministry's management would continue to support all staff so as to bring out their potentials in discharging their duties in line with the mandate of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs for the overall development of the Niger Delta region and Nigeria in general.

Earlier, the Director, Community Development and Education in the Ministry, Mrs. Lauren Braide said the Civil Service provided a good avenue for people to interact beyond ethnic borders.

Mrs. Braide thanked Comrade Benjamin Esekhaigbe for his dedication, outstanding good qualities and interpersonal relationship with other staff while in the service.

In his response, Mr Esekhaigbe thanked the Permanent Secretary, the management and staff of the ministry for organising the send-forth in his honour and re-engineering the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs for better service delivery
