Rt. Hon. Ayi Thumbs Up Ayade's Prudent Management of Scarce Resources

The member representing Calabar South/ Akpabuyo/Bakassi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Essien Ekpenyong Ayi, has commended the Governor of Cross River, Sen. (Prof.) Ben Ayade, for his prudent management of scarce resources of the state.

Rt Hon. Ayi, who stated this while speaking to newsmen in Calabar, maintained that the governor has done pretty so well in the handling of the resources of the state, bearing in mind that what the state receives from the federation account is nothing compared to the huge monthly bills the government has to settle.

The ABC Local Governments representative in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, opined that for the fact that Ayade is able to pay salaries and pensions on monthly basis, in spite of the huge debt profile of the state which impacts negatively on the state is a clear indication that the Obudu Born Governor is a prudent manager of scarce resources.

Ayi equally commended the governor for his Continous great support to the dearly team of the state, the Rovers Football Club of Calabar to ensure the legendary team's name and the name of the state continue to be heard Nationwide and internationally.

Ayade has done very well in prudent management of the state and its resources considering that the state is not very rich but he has been able to pay salaries and pension even with the huge debt profile of the state .Urge Cross Riverians to support him to successfully finish his tenure In the interest of the state.

He appealed to the Governor to sponsor the Club as a state team and the need for the governor to identify more with Rovers, which is currently in the  semi-final of the FA Cup as  the team is set to confront Kano Pillars FC,  Thursday, in Makurdi, Benue state capital,  stressing that the team needs total support to enable it win the FA cup for the State.

Ayi charged Cross Riverians to continue to give their total support to governor Ayade to enable him to keep doing more for the people of Cross River.

On his part, Ayi promised to continue to support the team within his ability. "I will continue  to do my best to support Rovers to get back it's glories of yester-years, to ensure robust game of football in the state and to take Cross River name high in the round leather game. I love Rovers and will continue to support the team to promote the state image and for the team to win trophies.

I will continue to support the team within my resources. I want the team to go and make the state proud by winning  the  FA cup. My only birthday request from the team  is for Rovers to win the FA Cup."

Rt. Hon Ayi therefore charge the team members to do everything to ensure they win the FA cup, as according to him, his  passion for football is great and that all the popularity  he has gotten is from football.

Ayi concluded by asserting, "It is football and Cross River State that made me a household name in the state having served as team manager of Rovers. l am committed to the team so that it can come back to prominence".
