Delta @ 28: Okowa Celebrates Anniversary, Holds Thanksgiving With Deltans At Asaba .

His Excellency, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta state, today celebrated the 28th Anniversary of his state with a Thanksgiving Service.


The ceremony, which took place at the State Government House Chapel, Asaba witnessed the presence of the Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, Chief Judge of the State, Justice Marshall Umukoro, National And State Assembly members, religious leaders,  Royal Father's and other dignitaries.

It will be recalled that the state was created alongside its sister state, Edo from the old Bendel state in August 1991 by the then Military Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babanhgida, with its capital in Asaba.

Under Governor Okowa, Delta state is said to have witnessed genuine infrastructural and socio-economic growths which many stakeholders attribute to his selflessness and sincere determination to improve on the achievements of his predecessors, especially the former Governor and leader of the PDP in Delta state, His Excellency, Chief James Onanefe Ibori.
