Kogi Civil Servant Slumps And Dies In Bank Over Fake Salary Alert.
Trending reports have allleged that the Kogi state government has been sending "fake salary alerts" payment to civil servants in its workforce and from reliable sources, is now resulting to the deaths of some civil servants.
According to one of the sources in the state, narrated how he got an alert on his salary account and went to his bank only to be told that there was no money in his account.
A civil servant in the Kogi state Civil Service who resides in Idah, revealed how they went to Access Bank, Ayigba branch to withdraw their salaries when they received alert, but were told at the Bank that there was no money in their accounts.
It will be recalled that, several online news mediums had on Friday, reported how Mr. Emmanuel Kadir, Head of Administration, Idah General Hospital slumped and died at the Zenith Bank branch of the Federal Polytechnic, Idah..
It was further reported that the late Kadir, following the nonpayment of his salaries by the Kogi state government, had borrowed monies to enable him feed his family but had reportedly, slumped and died when he was informed that there was no money in his account despite having received an alert notification on his salary account.
He was said to have gone to the bank to make withdrawal only to get the information the alert notification was false, leading to him slumping there inside the bank where he was reported to have been confirmed dead.
Sources who knew the late Kadir, said he was an elder in the United Evangelical Church and lives behind LGEA Primary School, Akaja Igalamela local government.
His corpse was said to have been deposited at the mortuary and will be buried next week Friday.
Efforts made to get respinses from Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, Director Media and Publicity to Kogi state Governor, failed as he did not respond to calls.
