PEACE DAY: "Climate Change; Major Threats To Peace In Nigeria"...... Mulade Declares

SSA to Governor Okowa, Comrade Daniel Ezekiel, Pst. Edewor Egedengbe, Mr. Uzezi Agbor and others commended CEPEJ and Comrade Mulade for his advocacy.




The National Coordinator, Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has declared that, one of the major threats facing harmonious living together in Nigeria, is climate change.


Comrade Mulade made the declaration during this year's 2019 annual peace day with the theme; "Climate Action For Peace", held at Uvwie Town Hall to commemorate the 2019 edition of World Peace Day, celebrated world wide as part of efforts to engender peaceful coexistence in the society, especially among Nigerians.


The CEPEJ National Coordinator who is an environmentalist cum Global Peace Ambassador and human rights activist, said climate change has affected world economy, the environment, health, human capital development, agricultural sector as well as the main causes of farmers and herders clashes in Nigeria.


Comrade Mulade also noted that banditry and other security challenges facing Nigeria are as a result of climate change, he called on Nigerian government as well as other partners to take serious action against climate change.

The SSA to Governor Okowa, Comrade Daniel Ezekiel, Pst. Edewor Egedengbe, Mr. Uzezi Agbor and others commended CEPEJ and Comrade Mulade for his advocacy for peace among all ethnic groups across Nigeria and Africa.

They charged secondary and primary school students to shun cultism and other social vices serving as  obstacles  to their studies and future.
