SARKI AUWALU EMERGES AS DPR BOSS

"Sarki Auwalu, the new Director of the DPR, is one of the driving forces of the oil sector regulator".


The appointment of a substantive Director of the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR has been approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The new Director is Mr Sarki Auwalu, a chemical engineer, described as one of the driving forces of the oil sector regulator, joined the DPR in 1998 as a Principal Chemical Engineer.

A statement from the office of the Special Adviser to the President, Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adeshina revealed that
the tenure of Mr. Auwalu, will run for an initial period of four (4) years.

Engr. Sarki Auwalu, a graduate of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria,  had his post-graduate studies at Bayero University, Kano and, PETRAD Norway, PetroSkill USA, among other institutions.

He is an Associate Member, Institute of Chemical Engineers, UK; Member, Society of Petroleum Engineers; Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers; and Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN), the statement read.
