The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kaduna state Command, has assured Kaduna residents of improved security, during the New Year celebrations.
The Command, in a statement issued Tuesday 31 December, noted with optimism that with public support and collaboration, safety of lives and properties will be guaranteed.
The statement, which was signed and issued by the Public Telations Officer of the Command, ASC Orndiir Terzungwe on behalf of the Kaduna State Commandant, Babangida Abdullahi Dutsinma, declared this in a New Year message to the people, stressing that everything is being done to ensure sanctity life.
Dutsinma said even though year 2019 was turbulent, especially with regards to kidnapping, armed banditry and cattle rustling in spite of efforts control same, the good and law abiding people of the state should not lose hope in efforts of security agencies.
He expressed confidence in the security architecture of the state with inputs of all agencies, describing security challenges in the state as surmountable.
In his view, there should be improved orientation towards relating with security agencies which are established with sole aim of fighting crimes.
To ensure a hitch free New Year celebration, the state NSCDC helmsman said Area Commanders, Divisional Officers and head of departments have been directed to ensure adequate deployment as contained in Operations Order.
During the period, he maintained that surveillance and routine patrols will be carried out in addition to deployment to worship centres, recreational facilities and suspected black spots.
He warned that anyone who foments trouble will face the wrath of the law when arrested.
While advising that only the living celebrate, the Commandant cautioned parents against leaving their children to wander without monitoring their movement and activities.
On the support by the state government which provided permanent office accommodation and patrol vehicles to the command recently, the Commandant said such gestures will certainly encourage officers and men to redouble their efforts in discharging their duties.
