CORONA VIRUS: “STEP DOWN NOW”…..CONCERNED CITIZENS GROUP TELLS BUHARI
“With
hundreds of thousands of infected victims and thousands of deaths recorded, the
supposed President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari deems it
unnecessary to address the nation on the state of affairs in the same manner
all other world leaders have done. It is shameful and tantamount to termination
of his stay in office as President”...... Ezenekwe.
Following
the recent developments that have arisen especially as it relates to the Corona
Virus pandemic that has now attained a worrisome issue, globally, a group of Nigerians
under the aegis of “Concerned Citizens Group” has called on the Nigerian President to
immediately, resign from office.
Convener
of the group, Ikenna Ellis Ezenekwe in a statement issued in Abuja, Nigeria
on Friday, notes that “recent developments have shown beyond reasonable doubt, that
the people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria do not have a seating President”.
According
to Ezenekwe, “this is in light of the latest pandemic; the Corona Virus that is
sweeping across the globe in a manner never witnessed in the modern era”.
“With
hundreds of thousands of infected victims and thousands of deaths recorded, the
supposed President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari deems it
unnecessary to address the nation on the state of affairs in the same manner
all other world leaders have done. It is shameful and tantamount to termination
of his stay in office as President”, he stated.
In
the statement, the Convener of the “Concerned Citizens Group” said the call for
the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari by concerned groups is
understandable”.
“He
has shown enough disregard and his glaring inabilities to be allowed to
continue in office”.
“While
the USA has earmarked over $1trillion to tackle the pandemic, Buhari has
earmarked a proposed loan of $22.7billion to showcase his landmark bigotry and
propensity to enable his cabal to loot the Nigerian treasury”, he stated.
“We
pray President Buhari sees the need to heed the call of resignation. It will save
lives”, he stressed.
