ESE ORURU: ABDUCTOR GETS 26YRS SENTENCE

A Federal High Court sitting im Yenogoa, Bayelsa state, has sentenced one Yunusa Dahiru to 26 years imprisonment for abduction, forceful conversion of one Ese Oruru, against her wish, to a Muslim.

Yunusa was sentenced by Justice Jane Inyang on Thursday for child trafficking, illicit sex, sexual exploitation and unlawful carnal knowledge of Ese Oruru.

The convicted Yunusa, popularly called "Yellow" by his friends was taken from the court to one of the correctional centres in the state.

Correspondent reports revealed that the convicted Yunusa Dahiru was driven away from the court premises in a truck belonging to the Nigerian Correctional Service in Bayelsa.

Yunusa, also known as Yellow reportedly abducted Ese in 2015 from her home in Bayelsa to Kano State where she was allegedly forcefully married and impregnated by the convict.

The case had generated so much controversy as the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Mohammed, now deposed, was very much in support of the convicted Yunusa Dahiru as reports also revealed that the young Ese Oruru was reportedly married off to the convict in his palace.

This issue had generated so much controversy with many castigating the now deposed Emir for allowing such happen under his watch.
