Raises Alarm Over Attempt By Amotekun, Osun Police To Sweep Matter Under Carpet

Following the arrest of some chinese nationals in Osun state indulging in illegal mining in the country, a group of Nigerians in Diaspora have raised an alarm concerning the purported refusal of Amotekun, the Southwest vigilante group and the police to effect their prosecution in court.

 

The group, comprising of Nigerians in diaspora under the platform of the Global Coalition for Security and Democracy in Nigeria, GCSDN, have written to Chief Adams Ganiyu; the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Mohammed Adamu (Inspector General of Police) and Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation about the refusal of Amotekun and the Osun state police command to arraign the Chinese illegal gold miners arrested in Osun since 3 May 2020. 

The Coalition has therefore, threatened to sue Amotekun and the Police for perceived compromise if they decide to sweep the crime under the carpet. 

"We must stop doing things the same old ways. No Nigerian can try this in China and go away with it", the group warned.
