OPINION: SILENCE IS CONSENT
Seeing evil, injustices, wickedness, et el being done or dished out and do nothing or speak out against it, is in itself evil.
“It does not concern me”; “there is nothing l can do about it”; “it has always been like that so it’s not new”; “I am also going through it”, are all examples of our complicity in the ongoing ills.
Doing nothing or saying nothing in the face of oppressions, victimizations, exploitations, intimidations, wanton killings, alienations and other evils, just because you are not directly affected or you are benefiting from the outcome, you are just as guilty and evil as the perpetrators. You are an accomplice, an accessory and a collaborator of the crimes.
I am not a lawyer, a Pastor or an Imam but I know that such people do not also go unpunished under the State Laws or God’s Laws when prosecuted.
There’s a saying; “Say the truth and shame the devil”. This means that if you see an evil being perpetrated and keep quiet, either because you are afraid for your life, or would lose out in favours, you are equally guilty of the evils committed.
If your silence is also because you are a beneficiary from the proceeds or will profit from the outcome of such evils, then you are complicit.
Now that you know better, it’s not too late to make amends, restitutions by doing what needs to be done and that is, lend your voice of condemnations.

It is said that “The voice of people, is the voice of God”.
May we have the courage to speak to our consciences to know that our keeping quiet, only means one thing; A SEAL of Approval!
