WHO IS TO BLAME? THE OPPRESSOR OR THE OPPRESSED?.... By Orisun (Part 1)
Actually, these questions have been giving me several sleepless nights overtime.
I have however, reached the conclusion that the blame lies squarely on the heads of the oppressed.
Let me expatiate before people out there (who like to attack the messenger and not the message), ask for my head on the “chopping board”.
The reasons I reached this painful conclusion is, as the saying goes, “no one can shave your head if you are not there”.
Reasons being that the shaver may feel compelled to shave your head for one reason or the other (selfish or as a service) but the main step, is that, he needs you to bring your head before he can do so. And when you do, he can do it anyway he seems fit to achieve his goal if you don’t say how you want it and ensure he follows the Script. Note that, that is the reason why there must be mirrors in the barbers’ shops, so the patron can see what is being done to his head and knows when to shout stop before irreparable damage is done.
So tell me, if you engage the services of a barber or hairdresser and, instead of you to look at the mirror to follow what is being done, you sit there and not say anything even when what you see that what is being done is not to specifications, and yet, you get up, you shrug your shoulders and still pay for “the services”, then only grumble when with your friends. Then, you are to blame when worse is done to you on your next visit.
What am I saying! You see a lot of Posts are trending about the ongoings and unprecedented level of nepotism in our dear father land but no voice(s) are being raised. They know only a few “Trouble makers” would make small noise and keep quiet because, we can never form a “quorum”.
Samples abound! Just find out about
the headship of 90% of the Government Parastatals, Agencies (existed and
created), International slots and so on, then you would look at yourself in the
mirror and ask yourself, if you are a Lion or a lamb, an eagle or a chicken.
Except of course, you are one of those who have sold out your birthright and
your people for a “pot of porridge”.
Those are the ones who would have the audacity to rub salt on our injuries and counsel, we “Remain united in the face of daunting Challenges”.
Do we blame him? No, we blame those “Suffering and Smiling” that fill this country.
What a shame for those born in plenty but are now the ones having to “lick boots” to survive. Tufiakpa!!
To be continued. So watch this Space!!!
Play your Part by Sharing this so that you and I can get that “change” we deserve.
