Frank Commends Wike Over Nunieh’s Rescue From Armed Siege

The disclosures by Joi Nunieh, former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC against the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs Ministry, Godswill Akpabio has continued to generate reverberations across the country and the South-south states of the country.
Nunieh’s explosive revelations, especially her claims that she purportedly “slapped” Akpabio for attempting to harass her sexually, has remained on the top burner of discuss in Nigeria.
Following her allegations against the former Akwa Ibom governor and the attendant threats from some quarters, Rivers state Governor, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike had warned against further threats on the well-being of the ogoni-born indigene, saying the people of Rivers state will not take it lightly, should any harm befall their daughter.
Against this background, Nunieh had on the early hours of Thursday 16th July, raised an alarm following a siege on her residence at #3, Oworu Creek View, Off Herbert Macaulay Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt, by armed security operatives.
Ostensibly, the move is sto prevent Joi Nunieh from appearing before a panel set up by the Committee by the House of Representatives of the National Assembly to look into the ongoing malfeasance in the NDDC.
Commending the Rivers state Governor for his prompt reactions to the siege on the residence of Joi Nunieh, former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Comrade Timi Frank described Governor Wike as a ‘Governor-General’.
Timi Frank, reputed for his expose of corrupt practices, in a tweet via his official Twitter handle @RealTimiFrank, said;
“I commend Gov. Wike for his bravery in rescuing Joi Nunieh from illegal arrest; he has proven that he’s a Governor-General. Despite party affiliation, he has shown that all Rivers citizens are one. We wish @MBuhari can fight for Nigerians the way Wike has done for Rivers citizens”. Frank tweeted.
Sources say the armed men forcibly gained entrance into the residence but failed to enter the house where the embattled Nunieh took refuge and placed a call to the Rivers state governor, who responded immediately by visiting the former NDDC boss and then providing her cover to the Government House.
