African Action Congress AAC, Sapele Chapter Berated DESIEC.

..... Gives Electoral Empire 14 Days Ultimatum To Withdraw Conttoversial Certificate of Return Issued To Mr. Gabriel Omofeye or Face Legal Action

The African Action Congress, AAC Sapele chapter has berated the Delta state Independent Electoral Commission, DESIEC for allegedly conniving with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to frivolously issue a certificate of return to one Mr Omofeye Gabriel of ward 11 who allegedly won a purported bye election that was not conducted neither existed.

The Sapele chapter of AAC which is ably led by Amb Prince Igho Sadjere Phf. in a statement issued on Tuesday in Sapele, disclosed that the councillor seat for Ward 11 became vacant following the demise of Hon Venture Kagbude, while people were still trapped at home and lockdown due to Covid 19 pandemic.

The statement which was signed by Amb B. K. Kelvin, Media and Publicity Secretary, AAC Sapele Chapter, revealed that their party only became aware of the situation through the media.

He said; "we as party learnt through news media that a Bye-Election has been conducted and a Certificate of Return has been issued to Mr. Gabriel Omofeye to take over the vacant Ward 11 seat, without participating in any Bye-election".

The party chieftain stressed that, for the records, "DESIEC never called for any meeting with political parties and security agencies to the Bye-Election effect".

He disclosed that, "notice was never served to Political parties to fill in candidates for the Bye-Election".

Kevin revealed that the replacement was done on vacant ward 11 councillorship position by the PDP in cohort with DESIEC when the entire Nation including Delta state that was mostly affected within the south south region was on Lockdown

"The Constitutional provision and means, toward changing or replacing someone in any political office, is well spelt out. Thus, AAC began to wonder how such thing of overnight certificate came about".

"The party leadership in Sapele LGA made a lot of investigations and it all turned out that there was no bye election".

He said that the  leadership of other political parties are equally marvelled at the revelation that something of this sort actually happened in Sapele LGA.

"AAC Sapele is led by men of integrity therefore, will not succumb to the nefereous behavioral pattern of DESIEC and their cohorts in PDP".

"By this notice, the African Action Congress hereby gives the DESIEC, Sapele LGA chairman and all parties involved in the evil act, 14days ultimatum to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Mr. Gabriel Omofeye and conduct a fresh bye election or face a legal court action against them".
