OKOWA'S EAC HAILS APPOINTMENT OF OSABOHIEN, OTERI AS GM DBS ASABA AND WARRI STATIONS

 

....Wants Government To Provide Operational Vehicles, State Of The Art Equipment And Assist DBS To Join DSTV Channels.

 ... Urges Osabohien and Oteri, to further justify the confidence reposed in them by His Excellency the platinum governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, by deliberately transforming the two stations into a full digital new generation broadcasting outfits.

The Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications, Dr (Barrister) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe has expressed hope and confidence in the abilities of Mr Frankwhyte Osabohien and Pastor Malcolm Oteri, to turn around the fortunes of Delta Broadcasting Service, DBS, Asaba and Warri stations.

According to the EAC, their appointments as General Managers of the two separate medium attest to their enviable career profile and wealth of  experience in the field of Journalism.

The renowned political communication strategist and member of the Human Rights and Political Communication Committee of the American Political Science Association, APSA, thanked the state governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for ensuring that the best among equals were appointed to take the two broadcasting stations to enviable heights in terms of revenue generation, rich and highly engaging programmes, news contents,  discipline from top to bottom as well as accelerated infrastructure development.

Oghenesivbe in his goodwill message to Osabohien and Oteri, on Thursday in Asaba, said the state governor and the government through the Ministry of Information, remained committed to infrastructure and human capital development of the state broadcasting stations; which was why the General Managers for Asaba and Warri Ststions were carefully selected through rigorous career evaluation processes, to drive the new vision of government for the stations to fruition.

He appealed to the governor and the government to provide new operational vehicles for the news and commercial departments of the stations so as to facilitate their day to day operations and to facilitate  news gathering and revenue generation.

The EAC said the two stations were long overdue to reach larger audiences.through DSTV cable channels like other state owned television stations, pointing out that it was time DBS take her rightful position so as to properly serve as credible channels through which policies, programs, achievements, actions and inactions of government are disseminated to heterogeneous target audiences.

"I am privileged to have worked closely with the duo of Mr.Frankwhite Osabohien and Pastor Malcolm Oteri, and I sincerely testify to their dedication to duty, professional and moral integrity, especially their inestimable zeal in ensuring balanced news reporting style in accordance with the rules governing broadcasting organisations in the country.

"They have also excelled in propagating the policies, programmes and achievements of this administration and equally showcased  excellent human relations with internal and external publics. Of a.truth, their appointments can best be described as round pegs in round holes.

"I urge Osabohien and Oteri, to further justify the confidence reposed in them by His Excellency the platinum governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, by deliberately transforming the two stations into a full digital new generation broadcasting outfits.

"Deltans are very eager to view DBS Television stations via DSTV Channels, it would project government activities better and in the same token attract major advertisers which would in return increase stations revenue generation substantially," Oghenesivbe added.
