...As Flash Poller Scores Obaseki 76.3%, Ize-Iyamu 23.7% on ‘CHANNELS TV’ Guber Debate.

As eligible voters in Edo State head for the polls next Saturday September 19, core political leaders and major players in Edo politics, have been urged to gallantly display their political weights and superiority over Adams Oshiomole, Capt Hosa Okunbor and Osagie Ize-Iyamu, by perfecting winning strategies for PDP and Governor Godwin Obaseki.

These core leaders includes the former Governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion, his father, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion (the Esama of Benin Kingdom), Chief Dan Orbih, Chief Tom Ikimi, Senator Mathew Urhoghide, Barrister Kenneth Imasuagbon and others.

Making this call is the Coalition of Intelligentsia for Rule of Law and Justice, CIRLJ, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in a statement on Monday.

According to the CIRLJ in its statement, these calibre of politicians in the party have the wealth of experience, capacity and huge support base to undo the radical and aggressive electioneering tactics of the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, and her candidate, Mr Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Chief Scribe of the group and member of the International Political Association, IPSA, Dr (Barrister) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, noted in the statement that the trio of Ize-Iyamu, Oshiomole and Capt Okubo, lacked the electioneering skills and force of grassroots mobilization to match the political supremacy of PDP political family in the state.

PDP-CIRLJ pointed out that the dwindling popularity of Ize-Iyamu and his new political godfathers, Adams Oshiomole  and Capt Hosa Okubo, points to the fact that Edo people were done with politics of deceits and gangsterism exhibited by the trio, aimed at perfecting "share the money" and "I chop, you chop" retrogressive collaboration of a looting cabal.

He stressed that the cabal is ably represented by the APC governorship campaign sponsors and their ratified candidate, accused of money laundering and financial sharp practices by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFFC.

"This can be seen from the pending criminal case in the Federal High Court, Benin against Ize-Iyamu by APC national government", Oghenesivbe stated.

It further stated that though APC and the trio were alleged to have concluded plans to engage in electoral sharp practices by procuring camouflage army uniforms for members of the "lions and tigers,"  leaders of PDP and the incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki, must of necessity do all within their powers to deflate all unscrupulous arrangements put in place by the APC radicals.

"It is crystal clear that Obaseki is the choice of Edo people but the radical leaders of APC in the state including the governorship candidate, Ize-Iyamu will deploy all known and new rigging strategies, ranging from the use of fake security operatives, fake registered voters lists, causing mayhem at polling units, vote buying via the deep pockets of Oshiomole, Ize-Iyamu and Capt Okubo, sponsored technical issues in card riders, unscrupulous void votes, disruption of votes counting at polling units, ballots box snatching as well as inducement of INEC officials to compromise election results, etcetera.

"It is therefore very important for PDP electioneering strategists to put on their thinking cap and find ways and means of tracking every move made by the APC radicals and do the needful to protect PDP/Obaseki votes across all polling units throughout the three senatorial districts in the state, without fear of harassment or intimidation through federal might and fake security operatives.

"More importantly, PDP polling agents must be carefully selected and must not pick party agents from any loyalists of Oshiomole, Ize-Iyamu and Capt Okubo left in PDP as underdogs to wreck havoc on election day. This done, victory is sure," the group assured.

Recall that a video went virile on social media recently showing some members of the "lions and tiger" team of APC and Ize-Iyamu wearing military camouflage uniforms at a rehearsal location in preparing for the governorship election on September 19.

The Coalition said Obaseki dislodged Ize-Iyamu in the pre-governorship brainstorming exercise  as Flash Poller, an international data agency scores Obaseki 76.3% and Ize-Iyamu 23.7% on ‘CHANNELS TV’ Guber Debate, pointing out that jobs and wealth creation as well as the overall development of Edo State, must be a joint responsibility of the public and private sectors as posited by Obaseki.

It noted that Ize-Iyamu goofed when he tried so hard to market his Simple Agenda document without explaining the sources of revenue to fund his projects. It clearly revealed that the APC ratified governorship candidate lacked the foresight and financial management skills to drive his over exaggerated and vague Simple Agenda.

PDP-CIRLJ berated Ize-Iyamu for hanging his charmed Simple agenda on mere paper theory without backing it up with empirical evidence on how to generate revenue and boost the state economy, thereby sounding very vague, which is a sign of deliberate deception that will negatively translate to empty promises since sources of funding the Simple Agenda were not disclosed.

"Osagie Ize-Iyamu's Simple Agenda will land Edo State in huge debts and serious problems of budgets deficits, because his agenda is anchored on government doing business with little or no private sector partnership arrangements needed to facilitate socioeconomic and infrastructure development.

"Ize-Iyamu's paper theory on his Simple Agenda is about borrowing, borrowing and borrowing funds that the next two generations in Edo cannot repay, the same way Adams Oshiomole borrowed Billions of Naira to fund invisible projects, as rightly disclosed by Governor Obaseki.

"Governor Obaseki abhors unnecessary debts and strongly believe that development must be private sector driven as was and still the practice in developed and developing countries of the world.

"Edo people do not deserve a Simple Agenda with no detailed analysis of how it will work, meaning that the Agenda is a mere document crafted for the purpose of election and nothing more," the group added
