....Advises the Management to put into consideration, the privilege in the society in admitting students so that they too can have access to quality education".

Kaduna based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmed Abubakar Gumi has disclosed that his recent visit to the NOK University Kachia (NUK), located in the southern part of Kaduna, has afforded him the opportunity to break the barrier of wrong imagination, fear, speculation and assumptions trending in some quarters that Southern Kaduna is inaccessible.

The cleric, who described NOK University, Kachia as an inspirational Institution, said from the reception accorded him, shows that the Southern Kaduna people are  peace-loving and hospitable.

Sheikh Ahmed Abubakar Gumi stated this during a visit to the site of the NOK University, Kachia, where he disclosed that the infrastructures gives him an inspiration that Nigeria still has people with good heart who are committed to bringing the quality standard of education enjoyed in those days.

While applauding the founder, Chief Anthony Hassan (Dokaje Jaba) for the vision behind establishing the University, Sheikh Gumi advised the Management to put into consideration, the privilege in the society in admitting students so that they too can have access to quality education.

In his response, the founder of the University, Chief Anthony Hassan described the visit by the renowned cleric as a blessing and signs that the University has come to stay.

Explaining his vision and burden for establishing the institution, he said over the years, sons and daughters of this part of the state have applied to read special courses like Pharmacy, Medicine Architecture and others, but admission was denied them in certain government Universities.

He further said another reason for establishing the University was that as a beneficiary of free education in those good days ,he thought it wise that as he is aging, the only service he can render to humanity is to pay back to the young and future generation.

He however, revealed that  the NUC has approved to run special science course as the institute will start advertising for admission as soon as final approval is granted by the Nation's Federal Executive Council.

Speaking earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Chairman, Kachia Local Government, Hon. Peter Agite described the visit of the cleric as a sign that Kachia Local Government enjoys relative peace.

He assured the Sheikh that the council remained resolute and committed to building and consolidating on the already existing peace for growth and development in the area.

The cleric and his entourage earlier took a tour round the school to inspect facilities at the site.
