Victor Ochei's Good Deeds in Security Logistics And Need For Greater Public-Private Sector Synergy.
"Security and peace building is one of the core focus of the Okowa administration and it is glaring that the state’s huge investments in providing brand new operational vehicles and other support for law enforcement agencies across board, has drastically reduced crime rates through swift responses to distress calls and effective policing". EAC Oghenesivbe Esq.
Citizens responsibilities and partnership with government for a secured and peaceful social milieu, is a task that must be done; from time to time.
It is a well-known fact that government alone cannot shoulder the enormous responsibility of funding security logistics in the country and it therefore behooves on wealthy Nigerians and Deltans to join hands with government to fund security infrastructure and logistics necessary for a more secured society.
In the light of the above, one must appreciate the kind gesture of the former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, who is also, the Executive Director, Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services, at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Rt. Hon Victor Ochie, for donating three operational patrol vehicles to the Nigerian Police, to enhance effective policing by the crime unit of Issele-Uku, Onicha-Olona and Asaba GRA Divisional Police Stations in the State Command.
The vehicles were received by the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hafiz Inuwa, on behalf of the Nigerian Police Force, Delta State Command. It was a colourful ceremony and the CP was full of praise for Ochei, and used the occasion to call on other financially comfortable Deltans and Nigerians to emulate the good deeds of the astute politician and philanthropist.
This is a wakeup call for other well to do Deltans, irrespective of political affiliation to give back to the state and the country, by collaborating with this administration and the Federal Government in making our society a better place to live in.
Security and peace building is one of the core focus of the Okowa administration and it is glaring that the state’s huge investments in providing brand new operational vehicles and other support for law enforcement agencies across board, has drastically reduced crime rates through swift responses to distress calls and effective policing.
The state governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, from the outset introduced broad based stakeholders’ interactive platforms, consisting of traditional rulers, security personnel, senior government officials, community leaders, women and youth, to interact at regular intervals especially to brainstorm on security issues and peace building.
Gov Okowa's moves, candid efforts paid off, and invariably increased oil production, which speedily shore up foreign earnings via enhanced exploration and export of crude oil.
Hon Ochei has therefore etched his name in the superb roll call of Deltans collaborating with government and the Nigerian Police to bring about a safer Delta State, through proactive policing by providing operational vehicles.
It is expected that more, wealthy and financial endowed Deltans and Nigerians will emulate the patriotic spirit of Rt Hon Victor Ochei and other citizens who have shown concern for security and peace building agenda of government.
One must not fail to again, commend the visionary leadership of the state governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for his inestimable efforts in ensuring a safer Delta.
