OPINION: THE APPLICATION OF SCIENCE METHODOLOGY AND FAITH IN DEVELOPING A VACCINE: A SEEMINGLY CURE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC.... By David Adenekan

To say, faith and science are inseparable, cannot be overemphasized".

To start with, the near development of a vaccine by Pfizer, as an antidote to mitigate against the widespread of Covid-19 is already provoking another round of conspiracy theory and negative rhetorics that is trending in the news by some religious leaders.

Methinks, we may be taking our religious beliefs too far if we do not accept and appreciate the importance of science in our today's world. To say, faith and science are inseparable, cannot be overemphasized.

However, the fundamental question, is that, can we separate our faiths from the application of science and knowledge? Are the many miseries or discoveries in this world not evolve from the knowledge of science by faith?  Also, is it not absurd to separate faith and science?

I am a follower of Christ Jesus and also a firm believer in science. This is because science is the application of knowledge by faith in God of the universe.

Suffice to say that God give us knowledge and wisdom to manage the affairs of this world. Insofar, there is nothing wrong in developing a vaccine through the application of science methodology to proffer a lasting solution to a deadly virus that has turned many families around the world into a house of sorrow. 

Yes, we must at a point nip it on the bud!

The Bible says, "faith without work is dead" and at this juncture, we  need to work through the application of the knowledge of science; and by faith save the world from this pandemic called coronavirus. 

Moreover, the application of knowledge of science methodology in developing a vaccine had in the past saved the world from many deadly diseases like Malaria Fever, Chickenpox, Smallpox, H2N2 Virus ("Asian Flu"), Meningitis and Polio Disease. This is just to mention but a few. Similarly, the development of vaccine through the application of science methodology to mitigate against the widespread of COVID19 Pandemic cannot be an exception.

The world must unite behind the science and knowledge of vaccine by faith to save the world from a Covid19 pandemic. Covid19 is now a serious health crisis that is ravaging our cities and the death toll in the United States increases as hospitals in hot-spots. 

It should be noted that Coronavirus has claimed more than one million (1.27million) lives worldwide and a fifth of them in United states of America.

In the final analysis, in today's world of Covid 19 pandemic, we must not consciously allowed our religious beliefs to negate the fact of science of vaccine as an antidote to mitigate against the widespread of Coronavirus. 

Yes, we are all in this together and may God help us.
