Rights Group Endorses Delta State Attorney General, Peter Mrakpor Esq. For SANship.

"Gbagi's Petition Against Delta AG Smacks Of Envy, Inferiority Complex And Diversionary Tactics".... Oghenesivbe.

A Non-Governmental Organisation, under the auspices of the Actualisation of Human Rights, AHR, has lent its support to the Delta State Attorney General and Honourable Commissioner for Justice, for the award of the prestigious conferment as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN.

The AHR, at an event on Saturday in Delta State, endorsed Peter Mrakpor Esq, for the conferment of the  prestigious title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, saying that the petition against the SAN nominee by Chief Kenneth Gbagi, amounts to smacks of envy, inferiority complex, diversionary tactics.

The group called on the Legal Practitioner Privileges Committee, LPPC, to discard the said petitions of the embattled former Junior Minister for Education who is seeking elective position in the state.

In a letter dated 12th October 2020,  signed by its Director-General, Omes Ogedegbe Esq and addressed to the Secretary, Legal Practitioner Privileges Committee, Supreme Court of Nigeria, the group urged the Committee not to take Gbagi seriously as his petition lacks merit and does not reflect the reality on ground in either Delta State or Ughelli South Local Government Area where Mrakpor is a major stakeholder as one of the most respected community leaders.

"Gbagi's outburst against Mrakpor is unfortunate, irresponsible, suggestive of acute inferiority complex and a conduct unbecoming of a legal practitioner and minister in the temple of justice".

It added that the former Minister of State for Education is practically envious of the new status of Mrakpor who is due to be conferred with the prestigious title of SAN, anytime soon. 

AHR further posited that Gbagi has been swimming in the deep blue sea of vague politics, nursing unattainable ambition of becoming the governor of Delta State in 2023 through character assassination plots, a situation that inspired him to suspect and attack any politician perceived to have the capacity to run against him, including the Attorney General of Delta State, Mrakpor who is one of the  innocent victims of Gbagi's radical and mischievous political antics.

They also berated Gbagi for allegedly trying to influence or induce the Chief Justice of the Federation (CJN) to perfect his selfish and wicked ambition of ensuring that the process of conferment of SAN on Mr. Peter Mrakpor is halted, pointing out that LPPC will not yield to petty squabbles, political propaganda and obvious character assassination in carrying out assigned responsibilities. 

"Gbagi’s petition dated the 5th day of October, 2020 served on this highly dignified committee, LPPC, is not only lacking in merit but an act of desperation taken too far".

“It is very appalling that Chief Kenneth Gbagi could have the effrontery to write a petition to this prestigious committee at a time he ought to be defending the criminal allegations against him as he is possibly living in the dark days where wealth is might".

“It is foolhardy on the part of Chief Kenneth Gbagi to accuse Mr. Mrakpo of sponsoring this case against him as one begins to wonder if the same Mrakpo was responsible for sponsoring the case reported against the said Kenneth Gbagi by one Miss. Lucky Obire alleging a case of hostage-taking, kidnapping and armed robbery".

"It is a truism that he who goes to equity must go with clean hands hence it is imperative that the LPPC must know the profile of the individual (Gbagi) that is presenting the petition before it". 

"Chief Kenneth Gbagi when properly described is notorious in acts of infraction on rights of citizens whom he perceived to be financially weak".

"The said Miss Lucky Obire was held hostage by Gbagi and like the ex- four staff, was made to empty her account at the instance of Gbagi. The copy of the petition to the commissioner of police Delta state in this regard is annexed hereto".

"Amongst the numerous petitions against Chief Kenneth Gbagi is that of Chief Raymond Anozie currently pending before the Commissioner of Police, Delta State also annexed hereto?

"We urge you therefore to discountenance the said petition which at best qualifies as the Shakespeare article of a story told by an idiot full of sound and fury yet signifying nothing," AHR said.

Mrakpor is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International, a member of the Body of Benchers by virtue of his status as Delta State Attorney General And Commissioner for Justice, and the Chairman of College of Commissioners, Delta State Executive Council, astute politician and community leader in Ughelli South Local Government Area, etcetera.
