NO MORE PICTURES IN ORPHANAGES.... COCHIN Bans Photograph Sessions.

In a move to protect children in orphanages across the country, the Coalition of Orphanage and Children's Home in Nigeria, COCHIN has called for the stoppage of taking pictures with children in orphanages especially amongst its registered members.

COCHIN, in a statement issued and signed by its National President, Senator (Dr.) Eze Ajoku cautioned against the practice whereby, individuals, groups and corporate bodies, during visits to orphanages engage in photograph sessions with inmates of such homes.

According to Senator Eze Ajoku, "we must be very careful whenever we visit the orphanage homes now. The opportunity had been given and people had used it wrongly", he disclosed.

"It has now been officially approved that visitors who come to visit the orphanage homes would not be allowed to take pictures with the orphans", he further stated.

Senator Eze Ajoku revealed that, "this warning was passed across by the Coalition of Orphanage and Children's Home in Nigeria (COCHIN). 

With this new directive from COCHIN, "whenever people go for visitation to orphanages to visit the children, they will no longer be allowed to take pictures with them. There are many reasons attached to this". 

Following the new directive, sanctions will be applied to erring Orphanage Homes in future.

"If any orphanage homes allow the snapping of pictures, they would be fined with a sum of fifty thousand naira. This fine is to ensure that they adhere strictly to the rule", the new rules states.

"Many people have misused the opportunity", the COCHIN National President stressed. 

In its statement, COCHIN revealed that "some people, after their photograph sessions with the children, put these orphans on social media. The security of these orphans are at stake. Posting their pictures is also a form of molestation and that has to stop".
