REVEALED: Akpabio At It Again.....Allegedly Amasses Over N300m War Chest To Create Instability In Akwa Ibom Towards 2023

Credible information obtained by our reporters have confirmed that the security breach that occurred in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, which the security agencies had quickly and decisively repelled, was instigated by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

However, the State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, yesterday, in what is seen as a prompt response to frustrate the plot, donated the first batch of 30 patrol trucks to the police to ease their on time response. Another 70 is expected to be released very soon.

Akpabio, according to multiple sources have sworn to instigate violence, insecurity and other cult related activities aimed at puncturing the key selling point of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration, which is the peace, security of lives and property which the state has enjoyed and is nationally and internationally known for.

“Akpabio is angry and jealous of the fact that Akwa Ibom people have come to associate him with violence, kidnapping and politically motivated killings which defined much of his eight years as governor.

“He is a very angry and frustrated man, and has sworn to deploying resources to create instability and violence aimed at disturbing the relative peace and security in the state. He has already amassed a war chest of 300 million Naira which he plans to use in executing his evil plot” a source who is privy to the dastardly and evil plot told our reporter.

“Akpabio recently held a meeting in his Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government home where he disclosed his plans to destabilize the state. He boasted that he has already recruited militants and has oiled gang groups to commence gang-related turf warfare.

“Last Wednesday, on his 58th birthday, the first of his evil plot occurred as a group of gangs caused security breach in some sections of the state capital. The violence was instantly and decisively quelled by the eagle eyed law enforcement officials and peace quickly returned to the state,” the source stated.

Yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer in Akwa Ibom State, SP Odiko MacDon put out a release where he assured the people that the State remained one of the most peaceful, safe and secure states in the nation and that all those engaged in gang-related activities would be apprehended, a pledged that was executed as over 40 culprits were apprehended and would be charged to court shortly.

A cross section of Akwa Ibom people expressed disappointment and shock at the evil plot and plans of Senator Akpabio.

“This is shocking and sad that a man who governed this state for eight years would out of selfishness and anger, plan such an evil plot. When people are killed, would he have a good night rest knowing that he was the one that engineered the violence? What kind of hatred for his successor would make him plan this sort of evil against the state and the innocent people? Akpabio should know that Akwa Ibom State has moved beyond his years in power when violence and killings were a recurrent event in the state, leading people to run away from the state. He should be told that we will not sacrifice the peace and security we have enjoyed in the years since Udom Emmanuel became the governor. If he thinks he will return our state to those dark years, he should just simply forget it,” a top stakeholder in the state who preferred to remain anonymous stated.
