CHILDREN’S DAY: BECKY CARE FOUNDATION FELICITATES WITH CHILDREN…. Throws Kidinmu Community Into Celebration

In celebrating the 2021 National Children’s Day, which is commemorated every 27^th of May, a Non Governmental Organization, Becky Care Foundation visited Kidinmu Community, located in Chikun Local Government Area on Thursday where the children were feted to a feast and dance competition.

The Chairperson of Becky Care Foundation, Becky Anaedo in a chat with journalists at the event, disclosed that her organization strongly believes in reaching out to indigent persons in the society, especially those residing in rural communities where insurgency and banditry have brought about their displacement and relocation to IDP camps and other communities.

According to the Becky Care Foundation Chairperson, her focus is to put smiles on the faces of these less privileged and indigent group by providing free hair wash, plaiting and barbing for the young ones in Kidinmu community, celebrate with them especially during such events like the National Children’s Day.

“Many parents can afford to take their children to recreation parks, eateries and other fun spots but these ones cannot have access to such and that is why we are doing today. We will share food with them and also organizing a dancing competition for the children and the best dancers in both the boys and girls categories will go home with a gift. This will surely bolster their confidence in society that they have not been abandoned”.

“We are all parents and I want us to imagine how life is without having access to some of the basics in life”, Becky Anaedo stated.

“This is not our first time in reaching out to the less privileged or the indigent in the society. We have visited Internally Displaced Persons IDP camps in other local government areas but this time around, due to fears of insecurity in the country and again, many of the IDPs camps have been abandoned, we decided to visit Kidinmu community as it is populated by people who have fled their homes and communities to this place”.

The children, many of whom were accompanied by their parents, danced along with music from top Nigerian hip-hop artistes disclosed that they never expected this year’s Children’s Day to be this great.

A resident of the Kidinmu community, otherwise known as Rido Village, Obadiah G Usman commended the organizers for this awesome gesture of the Becky Care Foundation describing it as “a welcome development that has brought smiles to the faces of the little ones in the community, including the parents”.

He applauded the organizers for taking out time to provide the kids with such wonderful time out on Children’s Day.

With quite an impressive turn out, many others lauded the NGO for choosing their community amongst others in the LGA to celebrate with their children and prayed for God to guide and bless them for their gesture.

Speaking with this medium, Village Head of Rido village, Samuel Yerima disclosed that words alone cannot describe his feelings with what this NGO, Becky Care Foundation has done.

“This is the first time we are ever witnessing such in this community whereby, a group will come to sit down and celebrate with us, especially our children, to feed and even have them plait their hair or barb for the boys”.

“God Almighty will bless Mrs. Becky for this and much more. This is just too good. See our children looking very happy and enjoying themselves”, the Seriki stated.

“Not many know this village but for clarity purpose, this is Kidinmu village and Rido, which seems to be more popular, is under this village of Kidinmu. I will like to point this out”.

In an exclusive chat with this medium, Becky Anaedo revealed that Kidinmu village came to her mind while she was putting up her programmes for Children’s Day, owing to the fact that they some of these children have been displaced, due to one crisis or the other in their various communities. Many of them are orphans, following attacks by marauders. Since there are no IDP camps, we chose to use this platform to meet with them here”.

“We have been to Buggae community previously in Kujama, headquarters of Chikun LG. My passion for children is the motivator that drives me. These poor children also deserve love, kindness and to be celebrated. Making them happy, gives satisfaction and that is the drive we need to do more”.
