Report by Monday Odaka

The Delta Political Vanguard, DPV has condoled with the Delta State Chief Executive, Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, during the Thanksgiving Church Service of his late Octogenarian father, Pa Arthur Okorie Okowa.

The DPV, led by Hon. The Octogenarian, who died at a ripe age of 89 years, was until his death, a Patron to DPV.

The Governor, while admonishing DPV at the event, expressed his profound gratitude on behalf of his family, to the entire leadership and membership of the DPV for organising such multitude of Deltans to Agbor in such a short notice, with the view to honor and condole his family over his father's passage.

According to the Governor, he explained that his late arrival was due to a short notice and schedule to attend the Thanksgiving Service of the Olu of Warri  after his installation ceremony , on Sunday where he played host to former Nigeria's President, His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasengo, who was in the state to attend the Service, hence his late arrival became necessary.

Fondly called Ekweme by his teeming supporters, the governor later revealed to the DPV audience, that it was his earlier decision not to recieve any group during his late father burial ceremony, but that for the peculiarity of DPV and the resilience of the Executive Chairman of DPV, Hon Michael Diden, who insisted that the event of the condolence visit by DPV, be commenced seperately today, alongside a Special Thanksgiving ceremony in Agbor, which he accepted, made the day a huge success.

The Platinum Governor was extremely elated and commended the commitment and steadfastness of DPV members across the State, under the People's Democratic Party chairman, led by Barr.
