QUINTESSENTIAL OBASANJO VISITS NEW OLU OF WARRI....Kneels In Reverence To The Ogiame III
Among Nigeria's leadership elite, one can effectively grant former President, Chief Olusegun Matthew Aremu Obasanjo, the top position of former and current Leaders with genuine respect for tradition and position.
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, a retired Major General of the Nigerian Army, has never failed to accord proper respect to traditional rulers, irrespective of their tribe or age as he has respectfully, either prostrated or bowed to the various traditional rulers in the country.
Newly crowned Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty, 'Tsola Emiko, Ogiame Atuwatse III on Sunday, 21 August, 2021 received in audience, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and pictorials showed Obasanjo kneeling in respect, the young King.
This is the quintessential Obasanjo, drawing accolades as always.
Nigerians recall when the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi was crowned as the 51st Ooni and the former President went to pay homage. In reference to the Office that the Ooni holds, Obasanjo went flat in prostration to his King.
Nigerians were therefore, not surprised to see the former Nigerian President, kneel before the His Royal Majesty, King 'Tsola Emiko, the Olu of Warri Kingdom.
His respect for tradition and traditional rulers has therefore raised questions as to why some other presidents see themselves as too high to accord such respect to traditional rulers even in their own domains.
One of such leaders is the incumbent president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari.

Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; is the 51st and current Ooni Of Ife. He is the traditional ruler/monarch of the Yoruba kingdom of Ile-Ife. He acceded to the throne in 2015 succeeding the deceased Oba Okunade Sijuwade. who was the 50th Ooni Of Ife.
