URHOBO NATION: Group Calls For Emergency Surgery To Recover Urhobo Lost Glory. ....... Supports The Ban On Open Grazing In Southern Part Of Nigeria.

The President General of Urhobo Peoples International Assembly (UPIA), Olorogu (Liege Lord) Keaton Okoro has said that the Urhobo nation needs an emergency surgery to recover it lost glory, saying that the ban on open grazing in the southern part of Nigeria by the Governors, is a welcomed development and as a body, we are in total support of it.

In a statement signed and made available to news men after an intensive meeting of the National Executives Council of the Group held on July 18th 2021 in Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North Local Government Area Delta to look at burning issues as it affects Delta State, Urhobo, and Nigeria, it stated thus;

"STATE OF URHOBO NATION.

PREAMBLE.

The Urhobo People’s International Assembly (UPIA) is a group of young elders in Urhoboland whom have distinguished themselves in Urhobo struggle before now, particular in youth activism. 

Urhobo Peoples International Assembly (UPIA) is a non-political, socio-cultural organization commissioned to Defend, Protect and Secure Urhobo interest anywhere, everywhere, and anytime.

Having appraised the ‘State of Affairs’ of our fatherland, we the National Executive Committee led by my humble self, Olorogun (Liege Lord) Keston Okoro hereby declare as follows;

DECLARATION: 

That, Urhobo Nation is in a state of dilemma, pitiable and regretful state and as such, needs serious and emergency surgery to recover her lost glory. We have lost our voice in affairs of the state, region and the federation at large. 

Urhobo Peoples International Assembly (UPIA) is therefore determined to carry-out the needed surgery to re-position the Urhobo Nation.

URHOBO AND 2023:  

While it is the right of every politician to aspire to any elective position, irrespective of his or her nationality background, but for the Equity and good conscience, Delta Central should produce the next governor of the state. 

We hereby enjoin all Urhobo Political Actors and Gladiators to always consider Urhobo interest first before their personal interest in the forth-coming governorship election, 2023.

UPU LEADERSHIP SAGA: 

The leadership crisis rocking our very dear Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) should be of concern to all Urhobos. The continued crises are not of the best interest to the Urhobo Nation, as such, we of Urhobo Peoples International Assembly (PIA) shall embark on reconciliation drive to ensure this matter is given permanent resolution.

THE PIB BILL: 

The Petroleum Industry Bills as passed by the national assembly is most obnoxious and vexations bill ever passed by any National Assembly in history of the Country. 

Giving us host communities 3% that suffered and continue to suffer environmental hazard and degradation and giving 30% to Northerners under or in any guise, is shear wickedness, shear evil and conspiracy crime against people the Niger Delta. 

We hereby demand for upward review of the 3% to 20% to host community and revise the 30% to the  northerners to 5%. 

These are the only arrangement that can guarantee peace and security of oil instillations in our land.

HERDSMEN MENACE: 

Herdsmen activities in our fatherland is most condemnable, our brothers and sisters are worried over the increasing menace of the Fulani herdsmen. 

Our women are being raped, children killed, farm settlements destroyed and most kidnapping can conveniently be traceable to herdsmen, this can no longer continue! We shall rise to this challenge as such; we shall set-up NEIGHBORHOOD-WATCH to ensure security of our fatherland. 

We hereby give our total support to the Ban of OPEN GRAZING declared by our southern governors midwife by our amiable governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa

NDDC: 

We observed in dismay the continued illegality in the operation and management of the NDDC which is not in compliance with the NDDC act. The forensic audit set-up since 2019 cannot continue to be an excuse to inaugurating a substantive governing board for the commission. May we inform Mr. President Muhamadu Buhari that, the spirit and aspiration of every Niger Deltan is to see a substantive board been inaugurated in the NDDC to ensure fair representation of the nine state.

URHOBO AND NIGERIA FUTURE:

The 1914 amalgamation that gave birth to the Nigeria Union by Lord Fredick Luguard is no longer functionable. 

The amalgamation was actually for administrative convenience by the British and to experiment a Nation State with Nigeria. 

The Amalgamation is not ment forever, it has a life span of 100years experiment which expired 2014. It is clear that the Nation State Nigeria cannot continue due to many factors; Nepotism, Ethnictism, Religious and Cultural Difference. As such, we the Urhobo People International Assembly hereby demand for an Urhobo Nation for the Urhobo People.

Urhobo population of over five million is more than 18 countries in the world, We hereby call on United Nation (UN) and the British Government to facilitate a referendum for Nigeria to determine our co-existence.
