By the constitutional provisions of the 1999 Constitution (As Amended), there are a total of 109 Senatorial Districts in Nigeria. Each of these districts has a representative in the Senate. That means that there are a total of 109 Senator in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.

One of the Senatorial Districts in Nigeria is Delta Central Senatorial District, comprising only the Urhobo nation. The Delta Central has being very peculiar and exceptional because, the seat was specifically reserved for those who are patriotic and have contributed immensly to the progress of Urhobo nation at large. It was the intention and belief of Urhobos that, before any Urhobo man starts thinking of aspiring or contesting  for this seat, he or she must first present his or her 'score card' that shows what he or she has contributed towards the progress and upliftment of the Urhobo nation. "OPERATION SHOW YOUR PARTICULARS THAT QUALIFIES YOU".

Over the years, from 1999 till date, you can check the cream of eminent personalities of Urhobo sons who were or, are in the Senate. You will know they are all personalities that have shown there 'SCORE CARDS' having contributed immensly and protected the identity of the Urhobos. It was believed that any person supported by the Urhobos for the Senate seat, is automatically a 'POTENTIAL GOVERNOR' of Delta State because, of the person's past or present antecedents/ contributions to the Urhobo nation. This seat was not for the 'boys' but 'men, who have the interest of Urhobos at heart. H.E OVIE OMO AGEGE falls within this category and he is highly qualified as one.

The truth must be told that, the best of the Senators; past or present from Delta Central is H.E OVIE OMO AGEGE, who by the special grace, is the highest political office holder in Delta State and South South zone as a Deputy Senate President, DSP. A position no one from Delta state or South South zone has attended to, since 1999. Again it's on records that no senator in Delta State or South South zone either present or past has done what he is doing today regarding attracting juicy projects, employment, empowerment and good legislations in Nigeria, Delta Central and Delta State.

We can authoritatively speak about that because we are involved in our inalienable capacity as bona-fide citizens that have lived here in the Delta Central zone for over 25 years in the Zone. And woe unto us if we fail to say things the way they are. 

Prior to the 9th Senate, Delta Central Senatorial District was among these Senators, that have come up with the proposition that many variable and invariable factors have proved that the current tenure of H.E OVIE OMO AGEGE is the best and richly trailing above the others. And it's not difficult to agree, based on point of facts and figures regarding to attracting juicy projects, employment, empowerment and good legislations by DSP on ground.

By the privilege of our media research and advocacy ventures, coupled with our routine criss-cross of Delta State, particularly in all the LGAs, we can concur and confirm that there are evidences that Delta State literarily has a performing Senator in the Senate as DSP.
