NIGERIAN YOUTHS AS A HONEYSUCKLE REPLACEMENT TO THE VIRULENTLY BAD GOVERNANCE OF THE PRESENT POLITICAL CLASS. By Kenneth Yugbovwre

Long before the #EndSARS uprising that erupted in major cities of Nigeria, the youths of this generation were despised and held in odious disdain by all gamut of the political class, especially by the elected or selected officials of Government, spanning from the lowest tier at the local government level to those on high horses at the presidency.
The apogee of these unwarranted animus towards the youths was factually exposed when a sitting president of the country was quoted to have fatuously excoriated and accused our youths of idleness and torpidity.
But the organisational success of the # EndSars protest, especially the spontaneity of its several activities was an eye opener that choked all generalissimo in every tier of government. The #Endsars protest by aggrieved youths in most major towns, unleashed a devastating toll on the economy as well as a negative impact on the psyche and attitude of the Nigerian Police, a hitherto security apparatchik which prior to the protests had operated with impunity as an imperialist force, with no iota of respect for the human rights and sanctity of life of the youths and denizens they are paid to safeguard and protect. The nauseous brutality of the police is a vile characteristics that is akin to state institutionalized violence against her citizens, the Nigerian police is a custodian and apparatus of the age-long contempt the political class harbour for the poor and hapless denizens of this country.
Although time tends to be a balm capable of obfuscating our memories of unpalatable happenstance, it is unfortunate to observe that the atavistic nigerian police is impervious to the bitter lessons of history, they are back to their obnoxious ways, replete with same old pristine brutality which ignited the infamous #endsars# protests. Therefore, it is trite and incontestable that it was the uprising of the youths that forcefully compelled the police to embrace a new attitude, albeit for a couple of months. More so, it is a truism that the memory of the incidents and mayhem associated with the #endsars# protest, rattled the hobgoblinry out of the police force.
Although pundits have acknowledged that the #EndSars episode was a knee-jerk reaction that should have been more properly coordinated for lasting transformative results bereft of blighty incidents that made the movement a curse rather than a blessing. It is acknowledged that too many hapless and deprived Nigerians who deserved protection became victims of rape, robbery and other violent and detestable crimes due to the inability of the organizers to prevent hoodlums and scumbags from hijacking the protests.
Notwithstanding, these identified drawbacks that almost marred the importance of that laudable and unprecedented putsch by the long suffering Nigerian youths to rise up against police brutality -- a first in the political annals of Nigeria.
Therefore, I affirmly posit that it will not be lost on the political class and their armed zombie like collaborators that the Nigerian youths are prepared to leverage on their demography and education to get Nigeria out of political wilderness we have entangled ourselves in, due to ineptitude, corruption and crass misgovernance by the political class.
No doubt, majority of Nigerians, except the gaslighted and microscopic few who believe that handouts is the furthest their fate can take them, have passed a vote of no confidence on all persons who have fortuitously ruled our country either as uniform class or political class.
Since 1999 the infrastructural decay of many national assets, i.e, the Nigeria electricity challenge, just to mention one has defied the thoughtless, incompetent, and pedestrian policies of both the People's Democratic party and the All Progressive Congress ..... opportunists who have ceaselessly pillaged and plundered our patrimony with unrestrained vengeance. Suffice to say that It is a monumental irony of life that a country endowed with so much natural and human resources cannot find her feet after over 6 decades of indigenous rule. meanwhile some other countries without a single natural resource, such as Singapore is listed among the leading economies of the world.
If an identified challenge as that of electricity is incapable of being fixed by the PDP which ruled the country for 16 years and the APC now in the saddle for 6 years and running, do we need a reminder for us to accept the reality that this clueless politicians are not the persons to take the country to her desired greatness
This inexorably lead to one conclusion that it is time to replace everyone in the political class with a new set of leaders from amongst our youths with so much verve and vision.
Unarguably the youths who have more stakes in the Nigerian Project and who are not as tainted as the generation manacling their future and progress, must be encouraged by well meaning unsullied Nigerians to dig in, walk the gangplank and take their destiny in their own hands, they must go for the political gauntlet and redirect the political trajectory of this country to engender holistic human and infrastructural development that will catapult Nigeria into a global force and nation, which every blackman in the diaspora can gleefully call a home and aspire to associate with.
So our youths must latch on the golden opportunity beckoning on them to assume leadership as we are the verge of a new election cycle. Our youths must step up efforts to pool resources together, strategize and take advantage of the democratic template of aspiring for offices and encouraging their members to shun aparthy and be more involved in the electioneering and voting process to elect persons of their generation and aspirations to lead.
As a Nigerian living in the diaspora, I am spurred by the healthy and inspiring collaboration between altruistic advocates of paradigm shift in governance and youths operating under the aegis of "Youth Arise" a group, I fortuitously chanced to read about in the blogosphere a few days ago, wherein
I read about their mission statement and conference entitled " Raising 21st century Leaders for Nigeria " slated for the 4th of December 2021 in my homestead of Delta State. Election rigging which foisted these insensitive and irresponsible gladiators on us was possible because of our docility and aparthy towards the electioneering and voting process. When we resolve to be active and watchful in the entire election process, votes will count irrespective of the tinkering with Electoral Act which the lawmakers are embroiled in.
For such a momentous event, which is expected to proffer solutions for the way forward and thereafter, herald an avalanche of political pathways to achieve the desired paradigm shift Nigeria so badly need in this period of our checquered political history.
Without mincing words, I have resolved to be an integral part of this epochal political movement, my dear Delta state like many other states in Nigeria is a cesspool of corruption, cronyism, nepotism, bigotry and most
worrisome, crass ineptitude and incompetence.
The truth be told, only a brand new crop of youthful leaders can exorcise and liberate Nigeria from our impending nunc dimittis.
In God we trust, Nigeria go better, Delta state go better..
