IPN CONVENER, MAZI NNAMDI IROEGBU CONDEMNS GESTAPO STYLE OF ARREST OF UCHE NWOSU.... Action Not Justifiable

If what is seen on the social media is true, then the police should render an unreserved apology not only to the youngman and Imolites, but the generality of Nigerians, for it is a gross affront to the sanity of a society. 

Mazi Nnamdi Dickson Iroegbu, a foremost movie Director in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry and National Convener of the Indigenous People of Nigeria, has berated the police authorities and government for the Gestapo style of abduction of the Imo governorship aspirant, on the platform of the Action Alliance, Hon. Uche Nwosu on Sunday, December 26 while attending church service.

According to a statement issued and signed by Mazi Nnamdi Iroegbu and made available to journalists in Abuja, he said "Whatever Uche Nwosu may have done, this treatment stands condemned! 

The IPN leader stressed that "the incident which took place at the church is condemnable, and to say the least reprehensible. 

"It is worse at a time Imolites are trying to recover from the incessant shooting and killings which bedeviled the state recently.

"The Imo state government must ensure that all Imolites are treated with respect and dignity (irrespective of their political affiliations). 

"I condemn the callous and demeaning way the militant police officers invaded the church, they desecrated the House of God in the guise of arresting a suspect!  

"The Government of Imo state is hereby advised to tread with caution; while I personally support the recovery of all the stolen property and safety of ndi Imo, I howver do not accept the gestapo approach as the case involving Uche Nwosu's (abduction). 

"Imo is presently experiencing chaos and anarchy, I call on the Government to de-escalate." Iroegbu concluded. 

We must avoid adding fire to an already inflamed state.
